As a beginner, your first impulse is to join a guild, any guild that would happen to invite you. THIS IS NOT THE BEST PLAN. Though some worthwhile guilds do spazzmodic recruitment, the best tend to hand pick and choose their members. Don't rush into a guild, let it come to you or at least learn a bit about it and it's members before joinning.
