This applies to semi-beginners as much as elites, as even the most experienced may want to experiment with their characters' styles. Otherwise, they're not really experienced, are they?
If you want to try a new skill combo, go somewhere where you can find little weakling monsters, but not so weak that killing them is like swatting blind flies without wings or legs. Make sure you bring your experimental skill set with you. This way, you don't need to bring more than one or two henches, and you don't need to bother with impatient humans who want to do something else. Follow this simple 3-step program:
STEP 1
Kill those baddies! Use your skills gratuitously!
STEP 2
repeat step 1 for a few mobs
STEP 3
decide if your new skill set falls in with your style of play
The more good skill sets you find, the more useful your character becomes. Enjoy!
