Hard Mode PvE Movement: Back-Line (Support)
An example of this class would be a healer.
Again, this advice is taken from the PvP world (or just plain common sense, whatever you want to attribute it to) and can make a difference in the success of a party.
Much like Mid-Line professions not moving, the same goes for Back Line players. Movement is key in many situations.
I play a Monk a lot so I’ll use her as an example. When I’m healing I always, always try to be at the back of the fray, as far from direct conflict as possible. I’ll even try to keep my Aggression Circumference away from Red-Dots on my radar, which brings me to my next tip.
As support, being at the back of the action, sometimes the back becomes the front and can mean a total wipe. There are a couple things to do to avoid this situation from becoming disastrous. A. Adjust your position to avoid catching Aggression from the approaching Mob. B. If you do catch aggression try to make an exit in any beneficial direction. This sometimes means running directly into the old front line and letting the mid-line temporarily become the front-line until the front-line can fully adjust. Usually the front line will be nearly done with the enemies you’re running into and aggression is already on different players other than the “vital” ones for a team’s survival.
Always remember, as support, particularly keeping teams alive, you’re no good to the team if you’re dead, you’re life is priority #1, and most of the times Healer’s are better at healing other players than themselves. So any time you get attacked or targeted, become untargeted!
