Hard Mode PvE & Area of Effect: Hard Mode PvE

Description

Hard Mode PvE & Area of Effect:

Hard Mode seems more quickly to react to sustained Area of Effect (AoE) than in Normal Mode, for this reason the use of certain AoE attacks can be just awful for keeping a Mob together and actually slowing down the killing of it!

A few quick examples of bad AoE damage for Hard Mode would include: (on their own)

1. Firestorm, it’s damage output is not sufficient enough without something keeping enemies in it.
2. Maelstrom, it’s ability to interrupt does not = the detriment it can be to a group, or the exhaustion it causes or it’s energy cost.
3. Sandstorm, same reason as Firestorm.

Now, teamed up with movement restriction, they might not be so bad, but on their own they will break up groups and just cause everything to suck just a little bit!

Here’s a few examples of good AoE for Hard Mode:

1. Splinter Weapon, Causes massive damage, period, just damage.
2. Ancestor’s Rage, good strong lightning damage, every spamable.
3. Spiteful Spirit, still one of the best.
4. Meteor Shower, good damage and knockdowns keep enemies in it longer.
