There are many different ways to see if a build you created works. You could straight up use it in the type of match you are intending to use it in (Ra,Ha,Hb ect). Before you do this though you should do a few things.
If it is a damage build, go to the Master of Damage and check the DPS. If it seems rather low look for skills that increase the damage or the rate of attack.
If it is a healing/support build, try to make it in PVE and test it out with a heroes/henchies group. Keep going into more difficult areas until you can see how well the build does what you intended it to do.
If it is a healing/support build and you cannot replicate it in pve than you should take heroes/henchies with you to the training area near the great temple of balthazar and take your henchies/heroes near the condition npcs and the hex npcs and test your skills to see how they work.
After you see if your build works the way you planned for it to, try and look at it to see if there is anything else you can modify to make it better. After you do these things feel free to go into the PVP scenario of your choice and let em have it. Remember Preparation + Practice = Victory.
