When you are playing as a monk in PvP, one of your biggest threats are often Assassins and their hexes such as shadow prison.
However there is a way of protecting yourself against them, using something called "Pre Veil".
This means you cast the monk skill "Holy Veil" on yourself before battle has begun, and when you get that nasty hex on you, you dismiss it, and instantly you have removed a hex without using a skill in battle, saving time and possibly your life.
