| Description |
If you are using Henchmen in your party, it's very useful to know how they behave. Each Henchman acts differently according to their class, but as a group they will follow behind the PCs (especially caster and ranger henchmen). They usually won't start an attack on a group of foes until a PC attacks, and they can be encouraged to disengage (except the warrior type henchmen) by running backwards and away from the fight. Sometimes, if they are being attacked, they will fight back.
As a general rule, the melee type henchmen will attack the specific foe that you are attacking, much like a Ranger's pet. If you are the only PC in the party, be careful about switching targets, because often the henchmen will switch targets too, letting the old target stay in the fight. If the foe dies, and you don't choose another target immediately, the henchmen will choose a target (often another foe that is hitting them).
The Monk Henchmen often get targeted by foes. If this happens, in between casting spells, she'll try to move to a different location. Sometimes, if there's another member of the party in the way and/or attacking, the foes will switch targets, letting the Monk do her job. If she does get killed, don't despair! Most of the other Henchmen seem to be able to resurrect, and will resurrect a fallen monk after the fight.
