This mission can be remarkably easy with the right skillset on your heroes, or remarkably hard with the wrong one. If you are unaware of what you are going to be coming up against, the Searing Flames boss at the end will completely annihilate your entire party. As Margrid the Sly is a required hero for this mission, giving her Broadhead arrow works remarkably well. The boss will not be able to cast because he is dazed, allowing you to kill him with ease.
