In Pre-Searing, once you finish and gain the reward for the quest "The Prize Moa Bird," You will recieve a Long Sword with a skin of a Crystalline Sword. It is wise to keep this sword until you reach Post Searing, which then you can sell this sword for around 5k for a quick start to the game.
