Remember, although heroes can be given their own skill bars and own equipment they still only have the AI knowledge of how to use the skills. If you give a hero heal party, be prepared for him to spam it too much or waste his energy casting it at the wrong time. Heroes seem to perform better when given skillbars similar to those the henchman have. Not overly complex skill bars which require alot of thought and energy management.
