If you get to the desolation and not all of your heros are level 20 yet, take the oppertunity to use wurms to level them up fast.
While in a wurm, your heros will have the same stats, health and energy no matter what level they are. To top it off, they get huge amounts of experiance from killing any monster in the desolation as they're all level 20+. To top that, you can powerlevel them with just the 4 of you in a party because wurms are so powerful.
