I've found that the easiest way to go up in Sunspear Rank (the Nightfall Title) is to actually work on the Grandmaster Cartographer Title. When you enter an explorable region, simple stop by the resurrection shrine by the entrance, and talk to the priest. He will give you a Blessing that will give you Sunspear points and double experience for killing certain monsters. Then, you simply circle around the outside of that area, talking to the priests you see. Some of them will be giving out the same bounty, but others will give you another blessing. Once you have the blessings, attack the monsters of that type (Great Beasts, Hekket, Kournans, Corairs, etc). You will then not only go up in Sunspear points, but you will also explore the majority of every area, and get double experience while doing it!
I'm about a third of the way through the game, if that, and I already have 4500 sunspear points, and 40% of the map explored. It really works.
