Advancing in this title is extremely important to the plotline of Nightfall, getting you your additional 30 attribute points, as well as allowing you to continue in the campaign (you can't past certain points without being certain levels). I found a relatively easy way to get to the first 500 points fairly quickly.
One of the first and easiest regions of the game is the Plains of Jarin. If you take three henchmen from Champion's Dawn (they will be level 6) and go out into the Plains of Jarin, you will immediately find a sunspear scout, with the plant hunt. Get that, kill the plants near him, then run to the res shrine just outside of the Sunspear Great Hall, without killing anything but plants. After that, run the the res shrine in the river in between the three outposts. This will give you the hunts for drakes, plants, and insects, which is nearly everything in this region. After that, just run around killing everything. They are low levels, nothing above 8, most are 2's, so your three level 6 hench (or hero) will dispatch them easily. It tooke me about half an hour to completely clear the region, and got me over 150 promotion points each time. This means you will be at your first 500 in about an hour an half, maybe two hours, assuming you didn't start at zero points.
An additional hint for those who preordered and are paragons or dervishes, put all your points into your weapons attribute, and once you finish the quests for the additional attribute points, get them. It drastically increases the speed having a max damage weapon that you are meeting the requirement of, allowing you to deal massive damage and kill in one hit most of the time.
