When Troll farming you will get alot of Raven staves. Most people will tell you to salvage them for wood, but wait! First identify the staff, and if its worth more than 60g sell it to the merchant. If its below that then salvage it for wood. This is because the value of wood you usually get is anywhere from 30-50g. Making profit faster if you go straight to gold. If it is a blue raven staff, and its highly salvageable you should definately salvage it. You can easily get triple the normal amount of wood this way. You might be asking what do I do with all this wood? Well most people will tell you to craft it into parchment, and then sell it, but good luck finding a buyer. I find it faster to just sell the entire stack to either a needy player (fast, and easy 2k usually), or a merchant.
Also remember to sell, or exchange your Troll Tusks. These are by far the most profitable part of farming Trolls.
