Dust Farming Farming

Description

Piles of Glittering Dust, despite being Common Crafting Materials, do actually only drop in small amounts, or rarely.

The undead, most commonly found in Kryta drop it directly, in piles of about 10. There are a few places to farm these: One of the best, though quite hard, is in Gates Of Kryta (mission). From the entrance go on up to Oink. Now, there is a small path path the building you see. Continue along here, and along the way there are huge spawns of Grasping Ghouls, Hellhounds, Sorcerors and other undead creatures! Also, when you have gone thorugh you come out about halfway through the mission, so can continue farming through it if you like.
Another good, infested place is the D'Alessio Seaboard. Simply run through to the Temple Of Tolerence, then killl the oncoming undead with the aid of Confesssor Dorian (Although his Heal Area can have you shouting at times) and a Mantle Knight.
Antoher good place is The Cursed Lands (Run from TOA eastwards, killing any undead, until you zone).

It can also be salvaged from Azure Remains (and others, but these are the easiest to find high level ones), which are dropped by Azure Shadows. The can be easily killed by the solo 55hp monk, as well as any well-organised small group. Please remember that for the 55hp thing take Balenced Stance instead of Blessed Signet or similar, unless you like spending time on your bottom while your Spirit wears out. The easiest place to find these, so long as you don't mind ignoring a boss, is south of Camp Rankor, where the Azures are the first mob you see including a boss (sometimes a few griffons spawn, but they should not cause any worries). After killing these, keep walking along, and a while before the Avicara another group should spawn. If you do not mind a bit of running, you could run through the Giant Herders and similar of Snake Dance from Rankor, farming the Troll Cave and a few Tundras on the way, and a small bit after the trolls you find area where Azures spawn in groups of 1, 2 and 5 or so.
A quick note, the chest nerf weakened Azure Farm too, because pre-nerf the box outside THK spawned a huge group of shadows and a boss when you got near.

Enslavement Stones, dropped by the Stone Summit in Sorrow's Furnace, are also a good supply of Dust. Each stone salvages into 6 Dust, so do a few 5-man runs in Orozar/FA and you will, as well as getting the occasional green, stockpile a huge amount of Dust.

Eyes dropped by creatures such as Storm Riders or Breeze Keepers also salvage into an amount of dust. However, I find this is not so productive, but if you must farm them I recommend either running a few henchies through Ring Of Fire (mission) to kill the groups after the cut-scene, or to go the the west side of Perdition Rock, where you did Final Blow, as a lot of Keepers spawn there.

One last note is the if you go into FOW or UW dust is dropped very commonly in piles of 3-4, and your teammates will probably be happy to sell you for either 3gp each, same as Merchant, or 4 gp, a slight profit to them as they would have merchanted it anyway. Plus, you get your own dust drops, and maybe even the occasional gold or Shard!
