Fur Square farming in Prophecies Farming

Description

The sequel to my Wood Farming tip :D

There are two main enemies that can give Fur Squares: Charr, and Losaru in the desert. Neither drop them directly, however "Calissa Sedgewick [Collector]" will trade 4 Charr Hides for one Fur Square (or a Belt Pouch, but pfft). Losaru, their Manes (Sometimes, or 4 Dust) and Hides (Usually) Expert Salvage into Fur.

Charr are best farmed in one of a few places, alternating between them so drops don't get too bad:

Nolani Academy
At the start, pull the lever and hotfoot it down to the gate. 20-30 Charr charge in, including a boss, starting with huge gangs of warriors and with 3-9 rangers coming last. You can kill these, although if you are using a stance heavy build careful, charr blades and axes use Wild Blow to remove it.

Outside Piken
The area outside Piken contains many charr and bosses for hides.

Flame Temple Corridor
Where you got Altheas Ashes, east of Grenditch Courthouse are huge charrs, spread out in mobs of 2-4. No bosses though.

The Great Northern Wall (Mission)
Run yourself the the cutscene, then kill the oncoming charr hordes. You will time out eventually, so pick up and kill quick.

Losaru are A LOT harder to farm, especially with Diversion mesmers running around, so you may have to bring a henchie or two (eg healer) for a guildie.

The Scar (East Of Destiny's Gorge)
Move south until you find a teleporter, and go through. In this big green trench are many, many Losaru, including bosses.

Skyward Reach (West Of Destiny's Gorge)
Just move through the green just outside, killing all Losaru. Easier but WAY slower.

The squares you can use for either money (About 100gp each, but inflated to 300-500 during the great Charr Hide scare of Xmas) or for certain warrior and ranger armours.
