Screenshot Guide v1.0
Welcome,
In the following I am going to show some basic helpful hints to improve your screenshots. Since there is no specific category for this, I put it in Exploration.. ie, your exploration of screen shots :P
Step 1)
Decide whether or not you want to show your interface or not. If you want to show off the beauty of Guild Wars, nothing ruins it more then skill bars, party windows, chat text, etc..
Pressing Prt Scr (short for print screen) will save a .bmp file to your Guild Wars folder (C:Program FilesGuild WarsScreens)
Holding Shift down while pressing Prt Scr will save a .bmp, but it will not show your interface.
Examples:
Using Prt Scr:
Using Shift + Prt Scr:
Step 2)
Decide whether you need to be in it. For example if you are taking a picture of a statue, or the sunset, etc. It is not necessary for you to be in the picture. Now a picture of an event, ie you sync dancing, etc. Sure it makes sense to be in the picture. To keep out of the picture use the scroll wheel on your mouse and zoom in as far you can. (Creates a First-Person view).
Examples:
3rd Person View:

Step 3)
When you take pictures that need the interface, it is a good idea to hide the names of other people. It is also a good idea to hide your skill bar if you do not wish to share it. The most common way is to use MS Paint (under Accessories in the start menu of Windows). Most people just use the spray paint tool, or create a black box over stuff.
I use the smudge tool from Adobe Photoshop CS2, however if you do not have Photoshop and are unwilling to shell out the $$$ for it, you can use the very powerful and free open source program called The Gimp.
Website: http://www.gimp.org/
Download page: http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html
Example:

Something other things to play with:
-Experiment with the 'Crop' tool.
-Save files as JPEG's (.jpg), they will be smaller and more web friendly.
-Programs like Adobe Photoshop also have a 'save for web' feature.[/COLOR]
