Thirsty River. A mission that requires Discipline and Teamwork. The mission in itself is basically easy, but many people do not know how to do it the easy way. There is no room for soloists and/or aggroing idiots on this mission.
Basically there is no 'specific' team build that you need to complete this. 1-2 monks, a tank or two, and any other classes would work.
First off, before you enter, know how it works. Each team you go against will resurrect every two minutes unless you kill the priest. This is one of the harder parts for people new to this. You don’t want to go for the priest right away, since there are others that can easily kill you while you attack the priest. But you also want to work towards the priest, fast enough to reach him before the two minutes are up.
The first group should be easy, just kill all the enemies outside of the wooden structure, then go in and attack the priest first. After you have killed the priest, then kill the boss. In this mission, you NEVER attack the boss first, the boss is last.
The second group is a little trickier. There are two groups near each other; the best strategy is to go for the left-handed group first since there’s a lesser chance of unnecessary aggroing the other group. Stay to the left wall as much as possible and work your way (killing the enemies) towards the priest. Kill him, then the boss. After the first group is killed, then you need to wait until the next (odd number):45. Or 15 seconds before the next even numbered time. For example, if when you kill the boss the time is 3:23, then you need to wait until 3:45 to attack. Then repeat, leave a trail of dead towards the building, kill the priest, then the boss.
The third area is made up of three enemy groups. Depending on what people want to cap, go left (monk) or right (ranger), and the middle is a warrior. Stick to wall of whatever side you decide to attack first and kill the enemies on the outside, kill priest, then boss. Once the first group is killed, wait again until 15 seconds before the next even numbered time. Outside, priest, boss, wait.
With this strategy, I have never missed the bonus.
If you have a teammate who can kill enemies in less than 15 seconds, you should probably wait until _:55 or so.
Remember, waiting for the right time is CRUCIAL, if you attack the enemy too early or too late, then all the enemies you killed will come back around the priest. And if they are all in one area, then it’s harder to kill the priest. And after the update, nuking the group is somewhat harder.
Also, bring at least one Cap Sig, since there is a boss with an elite for every class. Same for Elona Reach and Dunes of Despair, but Thirsty River is easier to cap, since you need to kill every boss anyway.
