Hi. Thank you for reading this follow-up to “The Fissure of Woe: How to make it yours”. My name is Marc (Evo Yonder or Evo Nodens ingame). Im from the Fissure of Pwn Guild and in this short add-on guide I will go in depth about the essential skills for Fissure of Woe for the build I suggested in the original Guide. You can find the original Guide here: The Fissure of Woe: How to make it yours.
The Tank [W/??]
As already mentioned in the original guide, the Warrior is not here to do damage. The Warrior’s task in the Fissure or Woe is absorbing the damage done by the enemy. The essential skill here is Gladiators Defense. Besides that you should take one or two other stances that block attacks. As far as the rest goes, depending on your secondary character you can take some area damage skills. Don’t take Warrior skills for damage, they wont do you any good when you are walking with the book. I prefer a smiting secondary character here. Perfect skills are Shield of Judgement and Balthazars aura. Don’t bother to take healing yourself, as that should perfectly be covered by the monks.
Nukers [E/Me]
You want the Nukers to do a lot of area damage. One type of Elementalist that can provide that is the Echo Nuker. Fill your bar with the best Nukes you have, I bet you can decide that on your own. The Echo Nuker uses Arcane Echo or the elite Echo (both Mesmer skills) to double their Meteor Shower capacity. The thing I even like better is when an Elementalist drops the elite Echo and uses the elite Glyph of Renewal. This will boost your casting capacities a lot.
Monks
You should bring three breeds of Monks down here. One full Healer using Healing and Divine, one Healer/Smiter using Healing and Smiting and the leftovers in Divine and one Protection Monk using all Protection and Divine.
The Healer: This guy (or girl) will deliver the powerhealing. The essential skills for him are Dwayna’s Kiss, Remove Hex, Word of Healing, Healing Seed, Heal Other and Divine Healing. The two leftovers you can fill in with any spell of your liking. I prefer Blessed Aura, since that will make your enchantment last upto 35% longer. You can consider using Essence Bond and cast it on the Tank for energy charging, but be advised that the Tank will use stances a lot so he will not be hit too much.
The Healer/Smiter: Bring Shield of Judgement and Balthazars Aura. The rest is up to you. Smite Hex is a great skill to bring!
The Protection Monk: This Monk is my favorite. He will bond all players with Life Bond, up until you get the book, then its just the warrior. Then cast Balthazars Spirit on yourself, no need to have attribute points in Smiting. You will have a large energy degeneration, but everytime you get hit through Life Bond you receive one energy point. Take Blessed Signet to keep your energy up, and also use Vital Blessing to enlarge your Health pool and make yourself able to absorb more hits. The other must have for this Monk is Spellbreaker. This elite skill will be very usefull when you run into casters. If this Monk does his job well, he will reduce all damage done by enemy’s upto 75%.
Well that’s it for now. I’ve talked about replacing Elementalists with other professions. I will get in depth to that in a next guide. My other project running is making a similar Guide about the Underworld. Stay tuned!
