Hello there, and welcome to another one of my guides.
Ok, basically, i found this farm recently because of my need for Ele tomes. Having made my ele all over again, he needs a lot of skills and well... it costs a lot of dosh basically to buy them all again. So i started to think where the best place to farm them was, all i need are a bunch of ele foes that are close together and easy to kill... And then it hit me!
So, lets get cracking...
The Build I run this farm on my A/Me, the build is the same as the UW chambers run, but is just as effective in this farm aswel. here is the basic build and attributes
As you can see you only need a Major Rune of Shadow Arts, but you can take a Superior if your a little squeamish :P I also run around carrying this with me,
Enchantments +20% and as much energy as you can take is always good, as for the first part, running and grouping everyone requires you to spend 40 energy a pop without really getting any back while on the pull. I also loaded him up with Radiant Insignias just to help him along.
So, once you have all that sorted, lets start with the run.
Where You Need To Be Get yourself to Olafstead, and leave the entrance, run down the little pathway and take the blessing from that Olga chick if you need it.
Then, head north towards the large lake. This is filled with Ice Imps and Frozen Elementals. These are the dudes your after. Ok, so as soon as you start to head north, you should see 3 elemental dudes just loitering, you need to get up Shadow Form after its been echoed and start to round everyone up.
Heres just a screen shot of where you should be, and what your radar should look like about halfway through.
Ok, so now you should have most of the dudes aggroed and flinging all sorts of crazy mess at you. The easiest way i have found to round them up is this.
There is a small bridge just on the southern side of the lake, run towards it and stand just on the edge, you should have mobs that look like this.
You can see the basic route i have taken on my mini map, and the aggro range on the radar. The Ice Imps have a longer range than the Elementals as you can see they have made a short backline on the radar. Just slowly walk backwards and they should all pull to the edge of the small bridge, like so.
Now you need to get the Elementals and Ice Imps together, to do this simple run around the bridge, through the water, and behind the Ice Imps, as long as you stay in range they shouldn’t move. Once behind the Ice Imps, just slowly walk backwards again until the Elementals layer themselves over the Imps. You should end up with a mob like this.
Once they’re all together, cast Channelling and start to cast Ether Nightmare, CoP and Radiation field. You shouldn’t have any problems with energy and they should die pretty sharpish. Radiation field should just about catch everyone aswel, hopefully, like this.
Just keep up SF and keep casting, hopefully they should all die and you should get some tasty loot and hopefully a few tomes. I have also gotten quite a lot of golds and a few good dyes here too.
You should be getting over 25 kills here, and this helps as there is a nearby shrine to go and get some more Norn points from.
Other Little Bits There is a boss lurking nearby if you want to kill the whole lake, but i personally find that its no worth it. It takes too long and the degen isnt as effective against the boss, and energy management can be hard if there aren’t enough foes to make channelling useful.
The Video Here’s a video just to demonstrate how the farm works
Pros & Cons
Pros -Easy farm to do
-Lots of ele tomes to be had
-I have fouhnd the drop rate pretty decent
-Norn points to be gained
Cons -Sometimes a pesky Vettir will pop up, and he uses Illusionary Weapon, while will eat through SF
-Remembering to cast SF
-Ice Imps running all over the place
Snowball Farmer Part2
Hello, and welcome to the second part of my 2 mini guides. If you haven’t seen the first part yet, that’s fine, i'll explain what has to go on in this guide aswel.
This part of the guide is linked to the first, but a bit of a different farm, which was made for the same purpose. Ele tomes.
The Build So, the build remains the same,
And this is the same for the runes and weaps etc... lost of energy and +20% enchant mod
The Run Ok, so you need to do the same steps as in part1, leave Olafstead and take the blessing from the shrine, then head north towards the lake again, get up SF and run past the first 3 lurking dudes. Now, instead of heading into the lake, run to the west and head towards Ravens Point(You can pick up the shrine on the way) .There is a small cave that is full of just the Elementals.
Ok, so get shadow form echoed and casted, then run in, head straight to your left and start to circle clockwise. you should manage to grab all of the dudes inside the cave with one circle round. Once they are all aggroed, keep running until they are on top each other, like so.
Then start to cast Channelling, Ether Nightmare, CoP and Radiation field, again, these guys should go down pretty quick, keep up SF and just hit them hard and they should all just sit there and take it
then all of a sudden...
BOOM!
...everyone’s dead, pick up your loot and talk to shrine boy if you have enough kills. Then to the right of the shrine is Ravens Point
Exit through there, once in, do a 180 turn and come back into the cave, all your icy dudes will be alive and back walking around again, simply kill them and repeat.
The Video A quick demonstration video to show how easy the run can be
Very very very very nice guide Stan! Really detailed and nice amount of screenshots. I might dust off my sin and get her to this point (never did SF farming with her after ele swords in NF lol).
Tried this build last night; and it is a very easy and quick run.
20 mins and completed to and fro; 6 gold drops, 2 ele tomes, 19 Trick or Treat boxes, and a few k after selling the wortless crap =)
Blazings: I never noticed the with, it took me a long time to find where it was haha, my brain finished your sentence so my eyes didn't have to read it haha
Just use a +5 staff head, a +5^50 energy inion and a +20% enchant wrapping and you'll be fine. Works for me. I used a BMP weapon (charr staff). Don't get a fire staff but an inspiration staff for wanding the stragglers if you need to.
This build normally is for farming those elementals
well u can also farm other mobs like the raptor cave (u need healing skills).
how: Mobs in hard mode (and especially in eotn) will run after getting hit to almost 50% or below (they will run into a circle around u)
so just lure them all and dmg them till they run.
then is ur chance : just run backwards and pull them into a nice ball which still keeps distance between u and them.
Then u cast ether nightmare and cry of pain in that whole mob(or most who have gathered)if u do this good it will be fast and easy.
Instead of using radiation field which wont work at running mobs just use an extra dmg skill who hits everyone around u or take a healing skill for raptor)
ah lol no edit button ... well i meant for the veattirs was thinkin about other farm xD
well anyway those veattirs and other will do this
except those anoying raptors who will come back after a while.
so sorry my mistake :p
