This guide will Show The use of ursans Team and how to build up a ursan team the best way

Ursan Blessing

You take on the aspect of the bear. Your energy returns to maximum and you have -2 Energy degeneration. You have +10-20 armor and +100-200 maximum Health. All Enchantments upon you are removed. Bear attacks replace your skills. You gain Energy every time you take or deal damage. This Skill ends when your Energy drops to 0.

The skill bar under the effects of ursan blessing

You deal 40...75 damage to your target twice.

You deal 60...135 physical damage to all adjacent enemies. Struck foes are also knocked down for 2 seconds.

For 2...5 seconds, all enemies within earshot are Weakened and all allies deal +5..15 damage per attack.

For 8..14 seconds, you move 20..33% faster.

You lose all energy.Your aspect and Skills return to normal.

The Ursan Damage Dealer's.

The Warrior & paragon. Thanks to these professions high armor these profession can take a couple of hits without dying.

The Mesmer , Necromancer & The Ritualist. Due to their low armor they are not used as much as the other professions in ursan teams.

The Elementalist. although it have the same armor level as the other casters their primary attribute , Energy Storage ,
can compensate for the low armor.

The Ranger , dervish & the assassin. Medium high armor. they are used more then the casters.

The monks.

The Light Of Deliverance monk

The Healer's Boon monk

*Note: the picture says 15 healing prayers and 11 divine, put that up to 16 and 12*

Use glyph before using Heal party.
These Builds are builds I recommend. The elites are preferred among the most ursan teams but other skills can be changed to suit the user.

Optional Skills to fill in the remaining 7 skills slots for the ursan's

For 20...30 seconds, your Stances last 30...100% longer. If you activated this Skill while drunk, you cannot be knocked down.
This skill is good to keep Stances up(trigger dwarven stability, the stance and ursan blessing.)

Summon a level 10...20 Ebon Vanguard Assassin that has Iron Palm, Fox Fangs, and Nine Tail Strike. This summoned Assassin Shadow Steps to target foe.
If target foe is a Charr, the Assassin lives for 20...30 seconds. If the target foe is not a Charr, the Assassin lives for 10...15 seconds.

Summon a level 10...20 Ice Imp that lives for 30...60 seconds and has Ice Spikes. Only 1 Asura Summon can be active at a time.

Summon a level 10...20 Mursaat that lives for 30...60 seconds and has Enervating Charge.

Summon a level 10...20 Ruby Djinn that lives for 30...60 seconds and has Immolate.

Summon a level 10...20 Ruby Djinn that lives for 30...60 seconds and has Immolate.

For 30...78 seconds, You gain +40 armor against physical damage, but you lose 24...14 armor against elemental damage.
(Be Careful with the use of this spell because if its timed wrong it can get you killed.)

For 30...78 seconds, You gain +40 armor against elemental damage but you lose 24...14 armor against physical damage.
(Be Careful with the use of this spell because if its timed wrong it can get you killed.)

Usage.

When you enter an area, use consumables if your team brought them, move up to a enemy group activate ursan blessing, Target the monk(if there is any) and spam skill 1-3.
Monks heals when needed.
When the enemy group is dead. pick up loot. move to the next mob and repeat.

Consumables.

Grail Of Might.
Double-click to give your party members +100 maximum Health, +10 maximum Energy, and +1 to all of their attributes for 30 minutes

Essence Of Celerity.
Double-click to give your party members 25% faster movement and attack speeds, and to reduce their skill activation and recharge times by 25% for the next 30 minutes.

Armor Of Salvation.
Double-click to give your party members immunity to critical hits, +10 armor, +1 Health regeneration, and damage reduction of 5 for the next 30 minutes.

Areas where ursan works wonders.

The Domain of anguish.
The Nightfall elite mission. In this area the teams often require a high Norn/Lightbringer title.
This area can get you armbrace of truth.
Can be done in 2-3 Hours(all areas including mallyx)

The underworld.
One of the two Realm Of the gods.
requires a High Norn title , but no Lightbringer is needed.
Drops Ectos.
Can be with within 2 hours(my record is 1 hour 15 mins)

The Fissure Of Woe
A Realm Of The Gods.
Drops Shards.
Can be done in 2-3 hours.

Pros & Cons

Pros:
Its faster then most other builds.
Almost every profession can do elite missions with this.

Cons:
Energy Denial.
Overaggro.
PuG's require a somewhat high norn rank, often rank 9 or 10

Printscreens

Me completing mallyx after completion of all 4 DoA area's

Me clearing Underworld.(this was a old screenshot, which I posted as a screenshot and therefor blanked my build.)

Got those gems in 1 full run and 2 foundry runs.

Me after completing The Foundry Of Failed Creations.

Thanks to:
Everyone in the screenshots(the name's are of people who agreed to have their name in a screenshot)

bravo on that. but for the record, necros are a bit better off than the mes or rit, maybe not quite as good as the ele though. soul reaping ftw :P

Naga Shaman has Immolate?

[LIST]
[*]You gave Naga Shaman the skill descrip.tion of Ruby Djinn.
[*]Your LoD build has Holy Haste and other enchantments
[*]Quite limited section on other 7 skills... What about multiple resses, paragon echos, et cetera?
[*]It's a great looking guide, but scrolling through, 2/3 is copy/pasted from skill descrip.tions, 1/6 is screenshots of you at end chests, and only around 1/6 is left for you actually innovating and describing usage. Even though UB is kind of idiot-proof, I'd expect a little more than 3 lines on usage in a guide for 50 credit..

Nice guide - quite informative!

Next time it'd be helpful to include names for the "extra" skills. Those not all that familiar with them may struggle to tell what they are.

  KahlanXvii on 02/28/08 05:14

quick question (never done this before but I would like 2 :p)
Do you need to bring hex/condition removal on the monks or is it not rly needed?

  johny bravo on 02/28/08 07:59

Nice guild but could use some expansion in the optional skill section. Things to consider:

Paragon secondary - (with a couple of these in your party you can maintain all of these (use anthem of flame while setting up to keep them up then ursan roar to maintain.)
Mending refrain - gives +3 regen helps take some pressure off monks
Burning refrain - causes burning
Bladeturn refrain - increase armor against slashing damage.

Signet of stamina - great for warriors as it gives a lot of additional health health

There are alot more secondary skills that are useful but ill stop with those for now.

equipment stuff
Make sure to take a sword (or one handed weapon) and shield using 2 +30 mods to help with extra health.

Don't use any runes that will take away your health.

Necros are great in this role becuase you can keep up ursan pretty much as long as you keep on moving from group to group. The lower armor is an issue though.

I messed up the deion of Summon Naga shaman.
I use Holy Haste because i only use protection spirit and seed of life if anyone gets a lot of damage , but usually the damage is divided to 5+ players.
The list of Skills to fill in remaining slots could be made very very long. all paragon refrain, Stances, ... as i said , it would be made too long.
i typed it from the skill desription. as i wanted to get the skills right. i dont see anything wrong with doing that. do you?
And Ursan Blessing is a very easy skill to use, with 5 ursans at rank 10 norn using Ursan Strike is 150 x 5 = 750
Then they use ursan Rage 135 x 5 = 675
Total damage in ~3 seconds is 1425 , at rank 10 norn that is.
So it makes it fairly easy to take down a mob of 7+ enemies.
If i had typed a Guide on doing ursan In UW/FOW/DOA The usage part would be alot longer . but this is just general for uw , FoW and doa

And something i forgot , some times groups wants 3 monks. but still its prefered to add in a second LoD/HB monk.

Equipment doesnt really matter too much. its most up to what the player wants. Though a 1 handed weapon and a +energy focus works best for the proffesions with low energy.

To be honest , i started thinking about that a while after i submited.

In Hex heavy areas Hex removers help a little. but i prefer not too bring one as i found myself barely using it.

Yes. i forgot thinking about the soul reaping. wich can be very affective.

  Evil Geek on 02/28/08 11:09

Nice guide :)

Equipment is actually an important aspect for any caster playing Ursan, Necros' rock at it with SR :) Using a sword (or axe) with an armor and health mod (or energy and armor mods-my preference) and a shield with a health mod will bring your armor up high enough to deal with all that close range work, remember that even with no points in a shields atts you still get +8 armor. Take along a +15/-1 energy focus too for when your running low on energy - the -1 wont stack on the ursan degen.

Skillwise its important to think about what is going to be beneficial as soon as you leave Ursan aswell as what can be useful as you enter it, anything that provides energy, health or even a speed boost can be good for a just rezzed player.

Nice guide but would have liked to see more options put in- there are loads of skill options and also Casters with the right equipment and insignia are easily as good at getting up close and personal as you traditional melee characters when it comes to Ursan.

miss healing monkey on 02/28/08 11:20

thanks for all comments. will help me to improve any guides i do in the future :D
as this was my first guide.:P

Awesome guide.. nice work with a lot of screenshots!
There's only one tip I can give you: Once you think you finished your guide, leave it on the computer for a night and the next morning you'll get another idea to add (in this case for example the equipment).
That works for me =]

Again, nice guide!

  mason717 on 02/28/08 17:56

The first guide

  aznese guy on 02/28/08 18:30

i love how there's all these huge pics, but 3 lines of usage...Seriously, more detailed usage would definitely help people out since this a guide to an ursan team, most of the guide is just builds. Just by skimming this guide I missed the usage cuz it was so small. Details plz?

That guide has been deleted because the OP of that thread's account was removed. Though that one was very in-depth, this one I think is fairly sufficient.
I do have one suggestion for the monks. I have seen it where both carry arcane mimicry so that they can both spam Healer's Boon+LoD.
Just my .02$

Mason , whats the points of giving me a link to a deleted guide at guildwarsguru?
and btw , last i looked this was Gameamp and i didnt see any ursan guide here.
as as many ppl use only this site i made a guide here

  Jamnog on 03/01/08 14:07

nice guide.

Dont forget the zel mods on your swords and axes. you dont get an extra bip of energy degen and each hit now gives you +2 energy.

yep soul reaping will give you a long ursan life especially if you have an mm with you.

you can swap to a low energy item before changing out of ursan at the end of a battle then swap back to your normal items to get a bit of energy to cast your asuran summons.

  Thornblade on 03/01/08 16:28

Long time since ive been here ;) .

I would actually recommend bringing several mantra of [insert element] ,
for underworld you would take fire due to the dryders for fow lightning fire and possibly ice, aswell as physcial resistance,
combine these with ether signet and dwarvern stability to make your low armored casters take much less damage.

Summon Naga is preferred as i believe it has stoning which adds to the KDs.

The most important thing as in any good team is to check builds and ranks, try to assess the skill and patience level of your team before you enter, if somebody wont cooperate they will need to go.

The benenift of ursan is it allows all professions to get a team so we should give mesmer etc a chance, sometimes they play better then other professions out of neccesity.

Sorry, i just copy pasted from bookkmarks, did'nt know it wasn't there.
And it was also much more detailed.

I can't wait until Ursan gets nerfed this week...[hopes, crosses fingers]

I want people to go back to having to think about their build. An Ursan is like getting a run from Ascalon to Droks. Its cheating and its not the way the game was intended to be played.

Down with Ursan!

GJ on the guide.

like c-space required a guide Oo

fun fact:
raven with all those -recharge stuff can deal (we took same thing as the example above with 7+ mobs, r10 teddies and 5 of them)

5x Raven Swoop (circle to 3 sec recharge + less than 3/4sec cast) on 7 mobs (we say they are nicely trained and are in one spot...

7x100 = 700, 700x5 (5 people hitting) = ohmy! it's 3,5k AoE friggin dmg 3 sec each?! H4X!
but wait! they have 30% passive block, well this sucks! omg! and when they are thinking they got aoe blind! zomfgzord but wait! they are KD proof also.... geez !!11111oneoneone

AND, with single targetting you'll overkill so you'll do total less than 1,4k dmg

but hey, not like balanced teams (even with some pugs) take 1:15 for fow... or simmilar time on other areas, not like challenging your brain and forcing yourself to think of builds or doing something else than c-space or t-space 1231212121312123 for 2 hours made you better really.

so back to topic ;p
nice guide, you exploited all that was there to say about the build in the 'Usage' section. The guide is clear, bit annoying the size of the printscreens but they show what's this uhm... thing? is capable of doing. would add some pros/cons also. Nice you added few skills that could be put on the teddie's skillbars, wondering where rez gone to ;]

edit: my bad, i forgot you don't take people without r9/r10, that is usually obtained Via ursan, not like after hours of grind you couldn't be worse at c-space ;]

Overall, Nice guide, clear, all stuff here big thx for the contribution

Keep up the good work!

cheers, i'm back ;p

I agree on that when Ursan is beeing used mindlessly but sometimes game just is this way. Team of 8 para storming Proph and poor mobs that have 0 chance against it wasnt the way Anet planned either.
Ursan can be a fun when used as someting else for a time - im nuker and its nice side way if u want to be in front line for a bit :)

To the Guide i would like to add that Ele is awesome ursan coz of energy managment and Prismatic armor which adds +20 armor (points should be all magic skills at 9 and energy at 7)! With such set they are much better Teddys than W, coz armor is same and energy keeps Enchant far longer...
