First Guide :: Jaya Bluffs Farmer
Introduction:
Yes, I am aware that this guide may not be very useful to a lot of the players here, but I have made a farming build that can clear the area. I am also aware that Jaya Bluffs is in the beginner's area, but let me mention a few "good" points of interest:
- The Dervish Build does not require any Elite skills!
- This build is very useful for someone who doesn't have Hard Mode unlocked, and/or would like to maybe 'ease' into farming (if it is their first time, of course). I have taught a friend this build recently, and he seems to enjoy it.
- If you lag a lot like I do nowadays, I believe the addition of a bonding Monk helps keep you alive long enough to reconnect, by lowering the damage taken, which complements the survivability of the Dervish very nicely.
- If you have a hero of either class, you can utilize either of the sides. Dervish? Take a Monk hero. A Monk? Take a Dervish hero.
- If you are not primarily a Monk, as long as you max out both Smiting and Protection Prayers as a Monk secondary, and acquire the required skills, you won't necessarily need Blessed Signet.
Skill Set: The Dervish, Original Concept
Healing Prayers: 9
Scythe Mastery: 11 + 4 (at time of screenshot)
Earth Prayers: 6 + 3 (need to have 9 points into here because you will be suffering from weakness against the Sensali)
Mysticism: 9
Armor Setup for You and Your Hero:
Survivor Hood of (any) Scythe Mastery
Radiant Robes of Superior Vigor
Radiant Vambraces of Superior Earth Prayers
Radiant Leggings of Vitae
Survivor Shoes of Attunement
- Note: I used a set of Max (base 70) armor.
- This setup also gives you 411 HP and 34 Energy, in case you are wondering. I like to stay over 400 if possible, so u may use Radiant Insignias instead of Survivor.
Now The Fun Stuff Starts Here >>>>
How To Use: Solo
This build works similarly to the 130HP Dervish, where you pre-buff yourself with enchantments, and use your attack skills with great regeneration to stay alive. As the title suggests, you will be farming in Jaya Bluffs (Normal Mode). Clearing the area does not take too long - it depends which path you choose to take or what you choose to kill. You can choose to only go after the Sensali/Tengu outside, or also choose to take on the Yetis, as well. I find it faster to avoid the Yetis and go after just the Sensali. Your choice, of course. Additional information on the 130HP Dervish can be found at PVXWiki.
Here's where you will be farming:
I usually work clockwise around the area, ending in the area where "Jaya Bluffs" is printed on the map. I usually also avoid the bosses too, because energy management may be a problem. Try to take on more than one enemy at anytime. If fighting Yetis, target the Longhairs first because they heal!
When you start, cast (or have your hero cast them on themselves) Live Vicariously, Essence Bond, and Balthazar's Spirit. Again, I usually head left, killing everything that stands, or what is leftover since the Sensali and the Yetis hate each other. But not to worry, there is still plenty of low-level loot to sell (you are in a beginning zone, so yes, expect low level drops). Occasionally I do not follow my set path, and just wander, killing anything until my storage is full. Most of the time, expect to collect feathers and feathered crests. Dye drops are not as frequent, but then you can pick up the occasional Vigor or Radiant runes.
If you would like to use/be a bonder, here is the build:
The armor setup can be anything, as long as you max out Protection Prayers, and have enough energy to cast all 4 enchantments - Blessed Signet FTW. If you do not have Life Barrier, carry Vital Blessing instead, and some kind of self heal in the event you start to take damage. Strength of Honor helps the Dervish do more damage, and speeds up the run a tiny bit. Each group with the bonder should go down in about 60 seconds.
Again, you don't really need to have a bonder: it's for players looking to either practice, or lag so much that the build seems impossible to use.
Pictured above it what enchantments the Monk and Derivish should maintain, should you use BOTH classes. otherwise, the Dervish Should just maintain Live Vicariously, Essence Bond, and Balthazar's Spirit.
As this is my first guide, I hope it helps at least one person out there. If you find that this was utterly non-helpful, sorry to have wasted your time. For those looking to use it, you can just PM This Monk Cant Heal or Miss Hammy Cheeks. I can hopefully show you, or get disconnected trying. Thanks for your time, and I hope to run into you online!!
