Ok, this is my first ever guide, so if it is bad feel free to beat me in the face if you ever see me in real life!
So as long as thats out the way lets get cracking!
Where you need to be
Ok, first you need to get to the Central transfer Chamber. Once you are there you will have access to Glint's Challenge. This can be accessed via Consular Brand Oakencask. This is something you can do solo so you wont have to worry about hero/hench messing things up.
The Equipment
As you can see here my armor is not the greatest. But it wont have to be as you won't face any enemies above level 20. The only essential piece you will need is the totem axe.
The Skills
By looking at the skills above you will see how essential the Totem Axe is. Combined with Glyph of Swiftness Obsidian Flesh can be kept up constantly.
The Enemies
When you enter the challenge you will only be able to beat the first wave of enemies. And they consist of:
Destroyer of Thoughts Lvl 20
Energy Burn
Mirror of Disenchantment
Shatter Enchantment
Shatter Hex
Spiritual Pain
Power Leak
Energy Surge (E)
Destroyer of Hordes Lvl 10
Splinter Shot
Barrage (Elite)
Inner Fire (Monster Skill)
(For 10 seconds, you gain 30 Health every second)
Destroyer of Souls Lvl 15
Spirit Rift
Lamentation
Vengeful Weapon
Ancestors Rage
Inner Fire (Monster Skill)
These are the only skills i have seen them use while doing the run. Which is why it is imperative to keep Obsidian Flesh up at all times. The only skill you should notice is Splinter Shot which will go up by the hundreds on your damage count. The only other skill to watch out for is Vengeful Weapon. Even with all your enchants up this can quickly kill you if it is only you and a Destroyer of Hordes left. They will constantly spam it and it takes around 50 damage each time. So be wary of this.
The Run Itself
Ok, talk to Consular Brand Oakencask and enter the challenge. You will start at the top of the map. Immediately run down the hill and get yourself slap bang in the middle of the Dwarves as shown below.
Once your there simply... do nothing. For the first minute you have to let all the dwarves die, so the destroyers shouldn't come anywhere near you. Once you hit the minute mark you will need to get all your enchants up. Basically put them all up except Sliver Armor. This is also where Glyph of Swiftness comes in. This skill combined with the Totem Axe allows you to have Obsidian Flesh up constantly, The 25% recharge from GoS and the +20% enchants from the Totem Axe will keep it up long enough for the skill to fully recharge (it's a beautiful thing when skills work in harmony). It's also important you keep an eye on it so it doesn't drop, as soon as it does the Destroyer of Thoughts will be on you like flies on a freshly laid turd on a hot summers day. They will use shatter enchantment and its all down hill from there I'm afraid. So i cant stress enough on how you must keep an eye on that.
So keep those enchantments up until around the 3 minute mark. At this point you should have something that looks like this,
Ok, now with the killing part. Walk to the right mob first, slot yourself right into the middle of them and use Sliver Armor. this should take down the first mob pretty quickly. And if your lucky, you should get a few cores drop. Remember to keep the enchants up and then head to the second mob. Do the exact same again and they should all be dead pretty quickly. When you get to the last Destroyer you will probably have to use Sliver Armor twice as there is only the one attacking you, so it may be a tad slow to finish. Here's a quick action shot.
(Imagine 'Eye Of The Tiger' in the background for added awesomeness)
Once they are all dead simply go collect your cores then /resign. While farming these i usually had 3 cores drop per run. The most was 6 and the least was 0 (which only happened once luckily), so you should expect to get at least 2 per run. Destroyer Cores apparently only have a 6% chance of dropping, but I don't know the exact number of destroyers killed during the first wave of the run. So grab yourself a calculator and let me continue to be lazy.
Hopefully after enough farming you should end up with a set of these,
Pros
- Quickest way i currently know to farm cores
- I earned over 40k while farming by selling items
- Golds will also drop to help towards the Wisdom title
- Cores can also be sold for around 1k
Cons:
- Can get become a bit of a grind
- You may get 0-1 core on some runs
- Can take time to complete the run, sometimes up to 8 mins
Well, that's it, this is my first guide so any feedback will be much appreciated, any questions or thoughts on the build just pm me through GA
Thanks for reading
