Hi all,

This is probably not the best farming guide ever but we think it's very usefull for everyone who wants to farm points for the Norn Title Track in GW:EN. Surprisingly, you don't have to be far in the storyline of GW:EN, you only need the outpost called 'Olafstead', one of the first outposts you will reach in GW:EN.

1) Norn Title Track
This is one of the new titles introduced in GW:EN, somewhat comparable to the Sunspear and Lightbringer Rank in Nightfall but with a more complex random bonus blessing system.
To gain a rank and title in the Norn Title Track you need to earn Norn reputation points in one of the following ways:
  • Completing certain quests that give points as part of the reward
  • Slaying creatures while under the Norn Hunting Party blessing (talking to Norns at resurrection shrines while under the blessing will either upgrade you hunter party rank or grant bonus reputation points)
  • Winning rounds in the Norn Fighting Tournament
  • Defeating each Norn in an area for the first time results in 25 points
  • Completing certain Dungeons in Norn lands

This guide will focus on gaining points by Slaying creatures while under the Norn Hunting Party.
Talking to Norns at resurrection shrines while under the blessing will either upgrade your hunter party rank or grant bonus reputation points:

25-49 kills - 20 points
50-99 kills - 40 points
100-124 kills - 60 points
125-149 kills - 80 points
150+ kills - 100 points (max)

2) Norn Hunting Party (rank 1)
This is a blessing which gives you 1 Norn Reputation point for each creature your party slays in an area. After every 25 kills, you will receive a random bonus. You also receive 50 reputation points for each boss killed in the area.

Note:
Spirits, minions and animals don't count and slain enemies must be level 15 or higher.

3) Norn Hunting Party (rank 2 / 3 / 4)
Another blessing which gives you an adtional +2 / +3 / +4 reputation points for each kill.

Note:
The earlier you receive the maximum rank of 4, the more points you make with this run. However a rank up is a random given bonus, also possible to receive by talking to a Norn at a resurrection shrine.
  • The earliest you can receive Rank 2 is by killing 50 enemies in the same zone, but it can be as late as 300 kills
  • The earliest you can receive Rank 3 is killing 75 enemies in the same zone
  • The earliest you can receive Rank 4 is by killing 100 enemies in the same zone

Note:
The Boss bones also increases with a higher rank (100, 150 and 200 points).

4) The Random bonusses
  • Boss Bounty : Enchantment spell, for 5 minutes, you earn +200 reputation points for the next boss you kill
  • Hunt Bonus : Enchantment Spell, for 60 seconds you gain an additional 5/10/20 reputation points for each kill.
  • Hunt Rampage : Blessing, you earn double reputation points for each kill. This bonus ends if your party fails to kill an enemy for 45 seconds
  • Hunt Rank Up : see 3) Norn Hunting Party (rank 2 / 3 / 4)
  • Time Attack : Blessing, if your party kills 10 foes in the next 150 seconds, you receive +200 bonus points
  • Norn reputation points : number depends on foes slain, and varies slightly per person
  • Strength of the Norn : Enchantment Spell, for 60 seconds, you have +100 maximum Health. When Strength of the Norn ends, you gain 100 Health

Notes:
  • You must defeat the Norn at least once in order to receive the blessing
  • The boss bonus value is doubled under Hunt Rampage
  • If you talk to a Norn at a Resurrection Shrine with this blessing enabled, you will receive bonus reputation points or an increase in party rank if you have over 25 kills. You can only receive a bonus once from each Norn at a shrine before re-zoning

Ok, enuff theory for now, let's get this farming started with an image that probably explains more than a 1000 words.

Be aware that the blessings shown in this image are given random, this is how this run went for me personally. My fellow officer who showed me this run got other blessings than shown here. Remember: random is the keyword !

  • Start at (1) Olafstead, grab some heroes and/or henchmen and leave for Varajar Fells area
  • Get the blessing at the first Res shrine (2)
  • Continue to point (4) and kill all the enemies you encounter
  • It's important that you don't stop for a blessing at the Res shrine (6) ... somewhere close to point (4) you will have killed 50 enemies (around point (3)), needed to receive a random bonus (in this case a Hunt Rampage bonus)
  • At point (4) the Norn will give you another blessing, in this case a Hunt Rank up to rank 2
  • Continue to point (6), keep killing all enemies and somewhere halfway (point 5) you will get yet another bonus by killing 75 in total (receiving a Strenght of the Norn blessing shown here)
  • The Norn at Res shrine (6) will give you another bonus, in this case a Hunt Rank up to rank 3
  • Proceed to Res Shrine at (7) for another Norn bonus (40 extra Norn points in this example)
  • At point nr. (8) you will have enuff kills already to recieve yet another blessing from the Norn, in this case Rank 4 (remember that's the highest rank u can get)
  • Follow the path to Res shrine at nr. (12) and untill 125 kills and receive another bonus (50 extra Norn points in my case)
  • Somewhat further you will have slain 150 enemies and receive another bonus (in this case a temporay Hunt bonus)
  • Don't stop immediately at nr. (12) but kill some more around nr. (11) first untill you have killed 200 enemies and receive 100 extra Norn Points
  • Get the 100 extra points at nr. (12) and (13)
  • Around nr. (14) you will have killed 225 enemies and receive another bonus (in my case a Time attack blessing)
  • At nr. (15) - 250 enemies killed, the example shows a Rampage Bonus again

That's where it ends. Around 2000-3500 points earned (depending on the bonusses you will get) in 1hr - 1,5hr.
We're aware that you can keep killing foes, (Ice Imps), located W of the end-point but we ignore them as they bore us :)

Final note:
Along the way and killing, some enemies will drop Berserker Horns. Keep them with you untill you reach point (16) where you can find a collector who trades them for some cool stuff.

First guide so be gentle on the comments plz :)

nice guide for your first :D (1st comment /woot) also another good spot is drakkar(sp) lake just north of there.

  FareHangora on 09/15/07 22:15

very in depth

  mr47 on 09/15/07 22:54

very nice, maybe i can get up to my next norn rank (slayer of wurms) using this guide. :]

  W1lle on 09/16/07 00:03

Heh, was thinking of doing a guide of this my self. Your route is quite similar to mine, but you can continue all the way down right. There's a horde of stuff left and easily gives about 500+ more points. Downside is can you tank the undead. :)

Very nice guide! :)

Adding the "Path to Revelations" quest from Tarnished Haven makes farming this area net approximately 4k-6k a run. Clear the area first and get the R4 blessing and then kill the 6 Facets. Map back to Olafstead, abandon "Path to Revelations", go back to Kearsh to get the quest again and repeat.

if you kill all the ice imps in the area, an ice imp boss will spawn, so you can get another 200 bonus points (if you're rank 4 hunting party)

this is excactally the same run i used to do, with 3 nuke heros it goes FAST :P

  smokebam_07 on 09/16/07 09:36

good guid now all i need is a deldrimor title farm spot and i can add silver eagle to my braveheart norn armor

  Madness Redeemer on 09/16/07 10:30

Good guide, it was an easy read and easy to understand.

Although, I got slayer of demons on the preview weekend in Drakkar Lake, so I havent been out to try it again after all the updates. But, I always thought the max was 120-140 after so many kills. Because I know in drakkar there are over 350 enemys, and after 300 or so I always remembered the bonus in the 120's, but that was a while ago.

BTW: good guide alliance mate :)

Hi all and many thanks for all your positive comments.

Both Insanity and myself have been working hard on this guide recently and have improved the run somewhat. Originally it was made as an easyish run that can be done with Hero's and henchies in just over an hour. We've now managed to get it under the hour mark with a consistant 2.1k+ point score with about 260 kills incuding both bosses. More points are obviously available but this one fits nicely into most players available gaming hours, even the weekend warriors :)

Soon as we both hook up online again we'll update the map accordingly. We'll also try and post the char builds we use as well although they are basicly Insanity or Master of Whispers as SS, myself as Glimmer of Light Healer Monk, Olias and Razah as MM's, Cynn as Ele, Talon as Warrior/Tank, Mhenlo or Lina as Healer/Prot and either Zho as interupt or Lo Sha as Mes.

Soon as we hit Rank 8 on this track we'll move onto making a guide for another title, probably Asura as most of our alliance and guildies want that one mapped :).

Thx again and Happy Gaming,

pretty good build, veru in depth and explained well, just gonna mention that u forgot the undead place hehe, and bonuses are random.

  Paramounts_of_Odin on 09/16/07 18:49

Does anyone else not like it that the shrines may or may not increase your hunt rank?
I would rather it be all time hunt rank up or all time rep. pt. boost based off of kills.

  Zephyr_Storm on 09/17/07 07:21

Not to bash or anything, but almost this whole guide was taken word for word off of www.guildwiki.org. The exact same wording and information is under Norn Title Track and Bounty headings on Wiki. I'm not saying that you didn't put any effort into this guide, I'm just saying that you should give credit where credit is due. If this were a real life situation, you could easily be charged for plagiarism. If you take information from a source like that, be sure to say that it's not your idea. I would normally tell you good guide, but like I stated, you pretty much just copied off of Wiki.

  johny bravo on 09/17/07 08:30

Nice Guide. One thing you should stress is to keep moving once you get hunt rampage. You can easily get an extra 1-2K if you get an early rampage and keep it up. I haven't started the norn title track yet bu I am at 70K Asura and a good pace can be the difference between a 4K run and a 7K run in Magnus stone.

Also only activate the shrines if you have less then 150 kills if you need a hunt upgrade. For example I never hit the first shrine I come too because at 25 Kills you get minimal points. If you come back after clearing you can get 100 points. Every little bit helps. And good luck to all you farmed out there.

Ty all for ur comments and ideas !

C&n't wait to try out the undead and add that quest from Tarnished Haven but I'm not that far yet in GWEN. Also, my fellow officer Uber Lemming did all the hard work figuring this run out, I just went along, took some screenies and made this guide.

As for the wiki wording : my first attempt I submitted to Gameamp had 2 links in it to wiki pages but the admins asked me to delete them and put that info in the guide itself so I just did my best to grab what's really needed from those 2 wiki pages ... + cred @wiki :)

As for the boss, he doesn't always spawn, dunno why.

Nice build, This could almost be for all the areas in the game.

  kielus_ on 09/18/07 12:41

you skipped the elementals in cave near raven's point and whole lakeish area south from 'path to revelations'.

now could anyone enlighten me - since when killing a boss does give you a bonus in points?? (not counting the bonus from 'random' list), me wants a proof for this never stated hidden bonus

  Beau Casteel on 09/18/07 18:14

Nice guide! Gonna try this once I get my war to olafstead.

  Shinobinex on 10/07/07 07:02

  Aliana FireWalker on 11/06/07 05:32

Aye, i tried this guide on my monk and got R5 easy ^.^ thanx :D (Also got a few plat too, but that varied on the run so you know ^.^ lol). :D
