W/R ... PvE pet build

This is a build I affectionately refer to as Bash Brothers. It is a PvE W/R Build that incorporates a pet. I absolutely love my pet bear Brutus but looked far and wide across the reaches of cyberspace and could not find any decent W/R pet builds. So I decided to make one my self and am extremely pleased. It is by no means a solo build but meant to inflict a great deal of damage with attack skills coming from 2 sources and a constantly spammable IAS. The only downfall is it has no self heal.

Skills:

Skill Template:

OQIUERpWFLPGnpSnW3sboNbGBAA

Equipment:

I have two sets of armor I keep with me at all times, not for excess but because both are very useful. If I’m taking too much damage or if I am the only warrior in the group I use my Knight’s covered in Vitae. If I’m strictly there for damage, and not meant to take the brunt of the hit, I’ll use the Glad’s because the extra energy makes the build a lot easier to use.

P.S. Special thanks to Travis for my shield

How to use:

Once a target is called, run in to attack and use Tiger’s Fury. Notice that skills 6-8 are disabled as a result, but that shouldn’t affect you in the slightest. It’s just your rezzes.

Next hit the target with attack wave 1, which consists of Counterattack and Ferocious Strike. This will allow you to do a great deal of damage and (if the target is attacking) you get +14 energy back (+9 if they aren’t)

After a few seconds you should have your adren skill fully charged and use wave 2, which is Penetrating blow coupled with Predator’s Pounce. This will also heal your pet, so use it to keep your pet’s health up to avoid having to spend the 10 energy on comfort animal.

Additional Notes:

-This build can be done with any melee weapon, think Standing Slash if you want to use a sword. With slight modification this could be a useful P/R build as well.
-Energy may become an issue especially with the stock 20. You can leave out tiger’s fury for a cycle, or refrain from using predator’s pounce.
-You pet is key to gaining quick adrenaline and keeping your energy up, if it dies mid fight and you have the energy I would recommend rezing it immediately and then use predator’s pounce as a heal.
-My gear is not uber, you can use different runes as you see fit.
-Question’s and comments are always welcome.

If you love your pet as much as I do, please post a picture of you two together using my build!

I'd change your attributes around abit

16 axe(12+3+1)
9 strength(8+1)
10 beast(10)

Other than that it looks great =)

This looks like a very strong W/R build indeed.

And like you already said, only downside i can see is that there is no self-heal..

Owell, Great Guide, and good explained imo :)

I was inspired a while back by Nightfall's Hekets, who also are axe-wielding Beastmasters, and back then was thinking about making a build based off that for my warrior to play around with. I just got too lazy to try to cap a Dire Black Widow, so never followed through :-P

I might go do so though now that you reminded me with your guide, thank you! I'll give it a shot :-)

How about changing Penetrating Blow into Dismember for deep wound?

Nice guide. :)

it is way cooler to have a bear when you are a P/R as brutal mauling activates chants like anthem of flame, but anyways i geuss the build is pretty good.

the new GW:EN skill companionship heals for 102 with rank12 beastmastery.

Hmm this actually looks fun to use. Makes me want to get me a pet on my war....if i haven't already i forget. For the self healing you could use heal as one or something like that.

Cool build, original aswell. Hehe think I'ma try it out.

Major Hinata Fan on 09/12/07 02:46

couldn't figure out how 2 edit last post, but now the question is. If my war doesn't have a pet of her own.....which 1 do i get haha.

  phaser1701 on 09/15/07 10:35

LoL poor monk is gona have to heal you alot. Nice dmg and guide tho.

  Chaotic Ordeus on 10/07/07 01:21

[color=green]you might wanna try heal as one(elite) and get rid of comfort animal..since heals you and pet.....counter attack constantlies gives you energy to use again...+5 wep too?

  Chaotic Ordeus on 10/07/07 01:21

Sry bout spelling above..not a great speller

  Inf Scuderia on 10/11/07 13:36

heal as one does not resurrect your pet. only comfort animal, heal as one and revive animal do.
of these three, comfort animal is the best to use, because heal as one is an elite (and you'll need ferocious strike for energy) and revive animal won't heal your pet

  majiger on 12/13/07 13:59

Actually if running a pet, 12 BM is needed for your pet to do 100% of its dmg. at 10Bm it will only do 90%
