I've had a request for a guide on the lingo used in this game. So here it is, including some excellent coverage from dannykideye, which I will list with a * next to it (possibly some minor edits to his work, but I made sure to give him credibility for it). I will also include some I've never seen in-game myself, just in case you run across it. So here it is, the list of what many of these crazy people are talking about when they say WDWHAPT (this one is a joke lingo, don't worry...Why Dont We Have A Party Tonight is what it stands for, if you were wondering :-D)

DannyKideye's and neoelasticman's list of acronyms, in alphabetical order (for other acronyms, go to this site):

Buff = a spell that temporarily increases abilities, or to temporarily increase somebody's abilities

Debuff = opposite of buff

*Farm or Hunt = to kill foes in order to gain items/gold/experience

Nuke = refers to direct damage spells

*Peeps = People

*Pull or Lure = to intentionally aggro a small group of enemies from a larger group.

i wish someone would make a list of that!

Feel free to add these definitions:
Tinker - A person whom can enter the low level arenas, and goes in with Droknars armor.
Rgr - Roger
Droks - Droknars Forge, sometimes refers to the armor.
Pl8mail - Obviously referring to the platemail sold at droknars, as it is a little bit more pricey than the other armors sold at Droknars.

  Genesis_Dragon on 09/10/05 06:24

actually a spiker is an air elemental

  Unbeatable on 12/17/05 06:33

A spiker is a guy that deals lots of damage instantly. Doesnt matter what proffesion he/she is.

  apoletta black on 02/20/06 15:51

If you could explain build names that would help to. Oh yah. GJ and ty. :)

Like ss and mm and bp stuff like that.

more 4tw  Alpis on 02/22/06 00:08

SS is simply Spiteful Spirit. a necro as either primary or secondary that is using this skill. also may have mezer as other profession to include echo and energy tap. (I've personally used ESSN as Echo SS Necro, but not sure it cought on)

MM is necro Minion Master. using minions, animate bone horrors, animate bone fiends, animate bone minions. plus the skills that heal them. also the bloodstained boots are part of the setup for the 25% reduction to skills that require corps (also the 2 necro teleport skills should be included in this)

for the build names you should be able to find them in the Guide sections here at gameamp.

as a joke, I've seen someone explain WTB/WTS as want to blow and want to suck.

15^30 = 15% damage over 30% health
4tw/ftw = for the wins
4tl/ftl = for the loss
toa = temple of the ages
sf = sorrow's furnace

and I haven't found what the max damages are for weapons.

The Trust About Spikers  Void Object on 02/28/06 22:08

First and foremost, great job on the list.

Second, a spiker is a character build that is usually ranged and can attack a target for a good amount of damage, example is a ranger. Spikers are in groups that consists of leaders and followers, the leader calls a spike (selects a target) and then everyone attacks, or does a certain skill on that target, dealing a lot of damage. This tactic works well when a guild or party can work together. If someone calls a spike, and they all attack different targets then spikers wouldn't be very effective.

Just to sum it up: Spikers are builds that all attack one target, then move on to the next.

n00b = Offensive term used to describe someone who does a dumb action, such as aggroing several groups of enemies or rushing
