Vermin Solo Farmer

Vermin farming, something many people despise, but for new players or for people who prefer slow steady cash over harder less reliable farms it’s great.

The main proffessions that can solo vermin are Elementalists and Warriors, in this guide I’m going to show an example for each.

For those who have never seen vermin they are lcoated outside Senjis Corner, and the route You need to take is marked here, with the main area for farming marked with the first circle and your end point marked with the second:

So ensuring you have an Elementalist or Warrior at Senjis Corner all you need to do is follow this guide.

First up Elementalist guide:

Skills :

• Fleeting Stability (For 5...21 seconds, you cannot be knocked down. If this Enchantment lasts its full duration, you are knocked down.)

• Stoneflesh Aura (For 5...13 seconds, damage you receive is reduced by 1...25 and you are immune to critical attacks.)

• Sliver armor (For 5...10 seconds, you have 25...45% chance to block attacks and whenever you are the target of a hostile Spell or attack one nearby foe is struck for 5...29 earth damage.)

• Mystic Regeneration (For 20 seconds, you have +1...3 Health regeneration for each Enchantment on you.)

• Shockwave (Adjacent foes take 15...51 earth damage, nearby foes take 15...51 earth damage, and foes in the area take 15...51 earth damage.)

• Aftershock (Adjacent foes are struck for 26...85 earth damage. Knocked down foes are struck for 10...56 additional earth damage.)

• Choice (Here is your choice slot, I generaly prefer stone daggers but tenais crystals or dragons stomp can replace)

• Earth Attunement (For 36...55 seconds, you are attuned to earth. You gain 1 Energy plus 30% of the base Energy cost of the Skill each time you use Earth Magic.)

Attributes:

• Earth Magic : 14 (11 + 1 + 2)
• Energy Storage : 13 (11 + 2)
• Earth Prayers : 8

Weapon Set:

• I strongly suggest an earth staff with enchantments last +20% and if possible +HP while enchanted. Other than that its up to you.

The Guide:

• Now that you are all geared and skilled up you are ready to begin vermin farming, Head out of Senjis north exit and follow the path I have marked on the map above, on your way to the marked circle you will encounter your first few groups of vermin, here’s what to do.

• Its simple really, once you have cast earth attunement and let your energy regenerate you simply need to follow the skill bar from left to right.

• Keep all your Enchantments up at all times and recast the longer recharging skills such stoneflesh armor and sliver armor as soon as they recharge, aslong as you are maintaining all your enchantments mystic regeneration will grant you +15 regeneration, more than enough to handle the bleeding and disease the vermin will make you endure

• Once you are maintaining your enchantments you can start to let the attack skills rip for smaller groups you can take out almost the whole group with shockwave and aftershock, with a little help from sliver armor.

• Once you have taken out the smaller groups and follow the path you will start to see a much larger group, including the boss, Shreader Sharptongue.

• Wait until the groups break up and start to lure a couple of groups towards you, away from the others path (after a few runs you will get the hang of this) aslong as you follow the same rules as for the smaller groups, ensuring all your enchantments are maintained you will be fine.

• Continue this process until you have completely whipped out the vermin and have reached the end point. Collect your loot and head back to town, Your first run is now complete!

TIP: instead of merchanting all the white/blue weapons you receive salvage them with an expert salvage kit, you’ll find you get quite a few steel and iron ingots, and whereas say 10 white/blue weapons would sell for 350-450g to the merchant you can make about 650-850 in steel and iron.

Second Warrior Guide:

Skills:

• Healing Breeze (For 10 seconds, target ally gains health regeneration of 3...8.)

• Power Attack (If this attack hits, you strike for +10...34 damage.)

• Cyclone Axe (Perform a spinning axe attack striking for +4...10 damage to all adjacent opponents.)

• “Watch Yourself!” (Party members within earshot gain +5...21 armor for 5...10 seconds.)

• Dolyak Signet (For 8...18 seconds, you have +10...34 armor and cannot be knocked down, but your movement is slowed by 75%.)

• Triple Chop (Attack target foe and adjacent foes. Each attack that hits deals +10...34 damage.)

• Balthazars Spirit (While you maintain this Enchantment, target ally gains adrenaline and Energy after taking damage.)

• Mending (While you maintain this enchantment, target ally gains health regeneration of +1.. +3. In addition to the initial energy cost, you also lose 1 point of energy regeneration while the enchantment is in effect.)

Attributes:

• Axe Mastery : 10 ( 9 + 1)
• Strength : 12 (10 + 2)
• Healing Prayers : 9
• Smiting: 5
• Tactics: 8 (6 + 2)

Weapon Set:

• I suggest an axe with +15% While Enchanted with a vampiric mod and shield with -2 while enchanted and +44hp while enchanted.

The Guide:

• Well its kind of self explanatory, basically the same rules as the Ele build, ensure all your shouts and skills are up and then attack away, casting healing breeze whenever you start to get low on life. Balthazars spirit will pretty much keep your energy and adrenaline constantly up so don’t worry to much. See the Ele build for more detail.

Well that’s that!
Please no comments about how you think vermin farming sucks etc. because you always have to start somewhere with farming!

Hope you enjoyed it!

Interesting Guide - One thing I would change is if you have Nightfall - Bring Whirlwind Attack. Also, drop "Watch Yourself!" as the Armor wont stack anymore and bring something like Dismember.

  eiirish on 08/14/07 14:13

@Warrior build:

NOOOOOOOOO, plz never ever use mending.

Imo replace like this:
Vigorous Spirit --> Healing Breeze
Live Vicariously --> Mending

Demon Slaya of God on 08/14/07 14:31

rits and w/rt also farm this nicely =P

  eiirish on 08/14/07 14:44

And also
Whirlwind Attack --> Power Attack

  eiirish on 08/14/07 14:48

Also you got 2 armor buffs, why?
Its capped at +20 anywai.

Yes that a very good point, ill be honest i had no idea they stopped armor bonuses stacking XD

and whirlwind attack is also a very good idea, and the main reason i chose mending and healing breeze over live vicariously is because its hard to survive shreaders group with -9 degen, but thats just my personal choice :)

thanks for your comments :D

  BigBishop on 08/14/07 20:58

I agree with eiirish and would take vig spirit and live vicarously, then drop watch yourself and power attack. With the right timing you can do almost a constant "whiriling" attack using cyclone, whirlwind, and triple chop. Mending doenst really give you a very good counter to degen due to the fact you cap out at 3 or 4 pips. Healing breeze is nice but short and the casting time could be used for attacking. Im not sure if i would replace watch yourself with a healing skill or something like defensive stance though, i would need to try it first.

  eiirish on 08/15/07 15:31

And btw this for HM or NM?
Was a long time since I farmd Vermin ^^

This guide is a complete and utter waste of time to make and read...b/c it's already been done and with a better build...the standard W/Mo vigorous spirit and Shockwave/stability builds have been out for several months. The warrior build makes ZERO sense b/c u'll have to cast breeze so much it'll take alot of breezes b4 the match is over and counterattack is much better energy management than power attack aswell as putting up live vig. or vig. spirit not mending.

  jaffar_al_kahyet on 08/16/07 12:32

Ok now looking at everyones comments i have taken into account that the warrior build is no way near perfect yet, and needs much inprovment.

but sargent989 this in no way makes this guide a waste of time, i couldnt give a monkey if you think ive wasted my time writing this, if it just helps one person whos never seen a guide for this farm before then thats enough for me to make it not a waste of time, im not trying to start an arguement here but at least ive tried to help ppl out, it may not be great but i dont see you posting guides or trying to help people out, so i think the fact that i made the effort is good enough for me and made it worthwhile as i enjoyed writing it, so im sorry if i wasted percious seconds of your life just trying to help.

next time just dont read it if you think its going to be a waste of time and dont bother commenting on it.

  Hardstrike on 08/16/07 14:30

imo,
warrior/monk
glads defence
riposte
deadly riposte
bonneti's defense
live vicariously
vigorous spirit
*healing breeze (optional)*

works fine ;)

Well at least u agree that sargent989s comment is unfair, if you cant think of summin nice to say dont say it thats wat i say :D

  Truemajeed on 08/22/07 07:11

Power attack is great for taking out a single target... deals quite a big chunk of damage instantly...

  GameMaiden on 08/23/07 02:20

I haven't done this farm in ages, is it possible to HM W/Mo farm it now? When HM was first released I was told that the LV/VS wammo build couldn't cope with the beefed-up vermin.
