Dzagonur Bastion

Dzagonur Bastion sees you defending the citadel from invading margonite forces.
Tip- The bombard towers aid you by inflicting damage to the enemy.

Requirements:
Quest completion of “Calling the Order” –olias
Or
“Greed and Regret” –Magrid the sly
- And Master of whispers must be in your party
Tip- Make Master of whispers an MM

Goals and Objectives:
Kill the Margonite Generals
Standard: 0 Defences remaining
Expert: 1-4 Defences remaining
Masters: 5-6 Defences remaining

The Map:

These five steps will help you do the mission
1. you and Your party
1. Location, location, location
2. Know your enemy
3. Know the route
4. The Strike on the Generals

Let’s begin:

You And Your Party

Your party should be comprised of:
2 Necromancers ( Both Minnion masters)

1 Fire elementalist (SF Nuler,As Most of the generals are static in combat, except the warrior.) -Maelstorm would help you with any problems with the monk boss if cast early.

2 Derish (Balth's Dervish is a good option)

3 monks (Light of Deliverance)

Tip- If your killing the boss slow but have great healing, try replacing a monk for a fire elementalist to speed things up.

Once a general has been taken down an mm can be left by the attacked Bombard, re-enforcing its defence incase a few rouge kournans or margonites cap it.

Don't forget to unflag hero!

And always inform your party of the next rift your going to, so you can quickly arrive in a group.

Location, location, location :

As soon as your teleported to the battlefield instruct the disciple of secrets to a bombard tower each. Move up a bit and prepare for the first spawn of kournans.

Know your enemy:

Before the generals spawn the margonites spawn in the same group’s form where they came. (Following is in game compass form)

The kournan forces are all at lv.16
The Margonite forces are all lv.24
The four Generals are lv.28

East Spawn consists of:
1 kournan priest
2 kournan guards
1 Margonite Warlock

South Spawn consists of:
2 kournan bowmen
1 kournan oppressor
1 Margonite Executioner

North Spawn consists of:
2 kournan guards
1 kournan bowman
1 Margonite Cleric

West Spawn consists of:
2 kournan guards
1 kournan oppressor
1 Margonite Bowman

Know the route:

The kournan forces stick to the same route pre-Generals, they spawn in this order:

East (B)
West (D)
North (A)
North (A)
West (D)
South (C)
East (B)

Tip-The double north spawn can sometimes be mistaken for 1 spawn as the disciple of secrets can sometimes take care of the first group for you if you’re running behind .

The Strike on the Generals

Once the East spawn of Kourans are killed the four generals will spawn.

I find it best to tackle them from this order:
North (Elementalist)
West (Warrior)
South (Monk)
East (Paragon)

Elementalist:
As soon as the last kournan spawn are killed rush to the elementalist boss as fast as you can, Take down a few kournans and then go straight for the boss, once the boss is killed you can leave the Minion master behind to help your allied guards. Now rush to the West Spawn (Warrior)

Tip-If you’re only going for mission you can spend more time there but at the risk of losing a needed bombard tower.

Warrior
Fight off all the kournan troops at the bombard tower, once dead make your advance on the boss and his troops, Kill any clerics first then the boss, anything else can be left till after the boss is dead.

Tip-More time can be spent here as there is not such a risk of losing a tower, you can also see the middle tower quite well so you can see if it’s under any real danger.
Tip-Don’t forget to unflag your Minion master!

Monk
The Warrior boss is down, now move into to centre bombard tower, take out the troops attacking tower and strike, go straight for the monk, The only problem you may face here is when he uses spell block, but that only prolongs his life by a bit.
Tip-an interrupt in the party could make short work of him but seeing as there no more pressure on time its only for preference

Return to middle bombard and prepare for last assault.

Paragon:
Let your party heal if injured and get ready.
Move in and focus all your parties’ damage on the paragon.
Tip-Once killed sit back and enjoy the cut-scene

Note:
This method can enable you to get masters with a full hero and Hench party with 6/6 towers intact and without a lightbringer rank or lightbringer skills/spells.

This is my first guide if you could tell me where I could improve that’d be great.

It may not be the hardest mission but I see a lot of people asking for help in alliance chat, so I decided to give it a try.

My personal strategy is to send 2 groups of NPCs to the North bombard, leave one in the middle with the leuitenant (I think, but I know someone's there at least) and take my party West, defending that Bombard but helping the NPC's as needed. When the generals come out to play, I sweep anti-clockwise taking out the generals, and it doesn't matter that there is now noone guarding the Western bombard because the generals and their friend are gone. This method means the North bombard is nice and protected by 2 NPC groups, so when I arrive to kill the general they usually aren't wiped.

..Ah yes and your guide is nice too =]

  aznese guy on 06/23/07 11:12

  shawnus1 on 06/23/07 12:45

you say at the very end that with a hero/hench team you can master the mission but is the guide designed for a hero/hench team? if not then what about all the other proffessions that need to clear this mission?? how about add some different team stratiges/set-ups? i just recently done this with my assasin, as the idea is to quick kill the generals my sin was actually welcomed into a party lol (1st for me :P) and it helped loads to take down the bosses in no time at all :)

edit*** grammar and spelling ftw!

  Hydras First on 06/23/07 13:25

OK WHAT THE HECK!? First Mim made one for Dasha, and Brynden for Crossroads, and now this! You guys are stalking me and making guides for the missions I need arent you? :P But seriously, I did need this masters for my Prot of Elona, ask Deno.

  Sargent989 on 06/23/07 16:55

Hats off to u, it's about time someone put up a guide to that mission, and a special thanks for making it thorough and very deive. Excellent Job.

  Xellois55 on 06/23/07 17:41

Cool, i find it funny how you let them NPC groups stack up, did the same thing, missions a breeze then ;)

Lots of people who are reading and using the info in this guide tho, seen alot of ''help needed'' for that mission :P

  iouzip4 on 06/23/07 22:49

****** finaly! i can beat the mission!!!!

  J A C K on 06/24/07 21:17

B U E N O !

  Soqed Hozi on 06/25/07 02:20

this mision is tough when you dont know what your doing, easy when you do. The first time I did this was for my prot title and only cus people in my guild were doing it...I just did what i do and hats it. The last two times have been storyline and I've henched it after beign stuck for a while.

my strat: one mm specced forsurvival alone, one mm for mnormal use, a charge warrior, damage and support. leave solo mm on the left with two groups of whiuspers, one whispers group centre ansd you go right/centre. you then run all over to where the fighting is...move mm to centre when u go left, and taking the second mm with you on the last boss (second from left). I go warrior, monk, ele, para.

  Madness Redeemer on 07/04/07 13:30

just finished this mission + the bonus after about 5 trys with henchies, then i got a real team. 1-2 MM's are real nice, but its the ele's that saved the day, they took each boss down in about 10-20 seconds so it was an easy fight. As derv i just went for the monks / mesmers, took them out quickly and your teams finishes the rest.

  Solas Alainn on 07/06/07 13:45

ty for the replies :)

well that was really a rough template:
3 Healers ( Rits,Paragons, monks) somthign that can heal or stop dmg
2 MMs ( there work well here as the minnions can tank, Deal a nice bit of dmg and corpses are plentiful.

the other 3 are reallyut dmg dealers:
i just chose ele fro its brilliant nuking ability and balth derv for its handiness against matgonites.
- so anything that deals dmg is good,ut depends what you got to work with.

theres 2 alternative ways of doing it in the comments, variety is good:)
