Primary
This mission is relatively simple, especially if you aren’t interested in the bonus. Koss is required, and give him Wild Blow if you have it, because you will be fighting a lot of Kournan Bowmen that use Whirling Defense, which can be quite a pain. In addition, I recommend Sousuke (if you chose him, if not Jin as a barrager works too), Olias as an MM (or Dunkoro/Talkhoura if you don’t have prophecies), Mhenlo, Khim (bring Cynn if you have Dunkoro/Talkhoura), Herta, and Odurra. It should be noted that you will have 8 sunspear allies, all of which are monks, so you’d probably be fine taking just one monk and bringing another damage dealer.
When you start out, you will be given a temporary skill from Rojis called Disarm Trap. This skill disables Sentry Traps, which are little things that look like rocks that blow up every three seconds or so and deal 100 damage to everyone near them. There will be a progress bar that appears when you are too close to one that will show when it will explode. Though it doesn’t say it in the skill debion, this skill is easily interruptible, so don’t try to use it while you’re being attacked.
If you aren’t going for the bonus, just head straight for Margrid. She’s the funny looking pink shape at the left end of the map. However, make sure you stay out of the BAD circle, going in there means death. You’ve gotten too close to the Kournan siege weapons and they are ‘aware of your presence’ and fire on you. But these aren’t like regular siege weapons that deal like 20 damage ever second or two. These will kill your entire team in a second or two. So stay away unless you want to fail the mission. Nearing the end of the mission, you will cross a bridge. Be careful here, there are a lot of Kournan patrols wandering around, and aggroing two or three at once could end the mission for you, when you’re very close to being finished. When you get to Margrid, just talk to her and you will have finished the mission.
When you finish this mission you will be in Kamadan.
Bonus
This bonus is more time consuming than difficult. The guard posts are the gray flags on this map, they will be red when you start the mission, they turn gray when you neutralize them. You can do it easily with the party formation recommended above, though if you’re coming back and doing it later or have a friend along, bring Zhed too as another SF nuker, this makes taking out the guard posts a joke. There are either three or four Kournan troops at each guard post, most of them have four including a Guard Post Captain. When you approach a guard post, you will see a guard post alert meter pop up. If that gets to the end, the siege weapons will be aware of your presence, and begin firing on you. It’s ok, just kill the rest of the troops at the post and head out of there. You might get hit by one or two bombards, but it won’t kill you, and though the tower will stay red on your map, it will count for the bonus. So just follow the map, the posts are the flags, you loop around the outside taking them out one by one. Most often when I don’t get a guard post it’s because the bowman has put up whirling defense and we can’t kill him. That’s why Koss has Wild Blow, that should fix this problem. When you get the last one, just turn around and head back to talk to Margrid to finish the mission.
Follow Up
The Council is Called from Dockmaster Ahlaro in Kamadan (you should spawn right next to him)
