Here we go...part 2 of 3...Yak's Bend to Lion's Arch.
This is the long haul, you'll be crossing half the map running through hex's and conditions galore! As you run this more you'll start to see little tricks for avoiding mobs and work out the best times to tuff it out and when to Smite Hex and run for it!
Yak's Bend to Ice Tooth Cave
This is the longest leg of the run to LA and potentially also the hardest!
Leave Yak's and head South West, here you have a choice which way to go: Straight across through the passage or right through the open. Both ways will face Pin Down and Freezing and neither seems faster.
This is the right side route...I agroed about 4 mobs going this way and had to walk most of it due to cripple or freeze
Head up towards the bridge
These Dwarfs do a surprising amount of damage so make sure you don't get stuck!
Left off the bridge reveals the res shrine and the portal
Follow the path left avoiding as many Dwarfs as you can...there's nowhere to get lost here.
Keep an eye out for the bridge which is both the shortest route and a choke point full of nasties!
As you run at the slope the Stone Summit will rush towards you and often block the ramp causing you to back peddle or even run off for another try
Here I am not only taking damage from Dwarfs on the bridge but also Dryders under the bridge and I've still got a mob to go
Push on through the mob but beware of lagging, these also rubber band you and you can be half dead before you realise. This may be the time to use endure pain!
Follow the left wall past the Dryders and keep running West.
Look ahead for the Res shrine and the portal
You might need to pull this mob of Mino's out of the way before you sprint past but be careful unles you brough balanced stance as they knock you down
Keep the wall to your right and look out for the collector and the entrance to the Ice Tooth Cave
Ice Tooth Cave to Beacons Perch
Look South for the break in the trees where the path runs and follow it down the valley
Keep following the little valley to it's end and turn right through the portal
Now all you have to do it turn left at every junction!
After this great big rock take the next left which heads up towards Beacon's Perch
When you start seeing Refugee's you're getting close to Beacons
Beacons Perch to Lions Arch
Follow the refugees West and remember to only turn left!
This is the road through the caves towards Lions Arch
From here until the other side of the cave you should expect every single Ettin to rubber band you half way back across the map or trap you in such a way that you have to die to escape
The cave all looks the same inside so you'll have to watch your map to get through. If in doubt either keep right the whole time or follow the Marks of Aiden
If you want Gates of Kryta go left but be prepared for a long slow walk while you're hit with Deep Freeze every 10 seconds. Turn right for LA
Around the boat...it goes from bad to worse.....
If you're lucky and time it right you'll miss the huge mob patroling the bottom, if you're unlucky you'll run into a huge mob of Mesmers while your still frozen!
I forgot to get a screen shot of this so I ran it back from LA to get the route, it's much easier to do this way and might be worth trying to learn the best way through.
Head down the path into the swamp and keep running south
Head past the ruin and aim for the gap in the distance
This cut through can be a real pain to find in all the trees but any exit our of the swamp brings you fairly close to LA
Journey's End
This guide is hopefully comprehensive enough to help you get from Yak's Bend to Lions Arch without getting lost. There's no great skill involved like with the Droks run, here you rely on strength and huge health to simply plow through everything in your way!
Also remember that this guide can be used in reverse to run characters from other continents to Ascalon
I hope people like this one as much as the Desert guide because LA to Sanctum Cay is on the way!
