Illusionary weapon ranger
This is a ranger build I’ve been using since a few months after prophecies came out.
It is one that takes some time to get used to but when you finally do, it is pretty fun. It’s also one of the few melee builds that can take out a rispo warrior. Also, it is a good way to get actual use out of your candy cane weapons, which is just fun.
*note, these are all based on 1-12 attribute points*
----------Illusion-----------
1 Illusionary weaponry : Elite Enchantment Spell. For 30 seconds, you deal no damage in melee, but whenever you attack in melee, target foe takes 8...34 damage 15/1/35
2 Illusion of weakness : Enchantment Spell. You lose 50...202 Health. Illusion of Weakness ends if damage drops your Health below 25% of your maximum. When Illusion of Weakness ends, you gain 50...202 Health. 10/2/30
-----------Expertise-------
3 Lightning reflexes : Stance. For 5...10 seconds, you have a 75% chance to "evade" melee and projectile attacks, and you attack 33% faster. 10/0/45
4 Whirling defenses : Stance. For 8...18 seconds, you have 75% chance to "block" attacks. Whenever you block a projectile in this way, adjacent foes take 5...10 damage. 10/0/60
5 Throw dirt : Skill. Target touched foe and foes adjacent to your target become "Blinded" for 3...13 seconds. 5/1/45
---------Wilderness survival------------
6 Troll unguent : Skill. For 10 seconds, you gain +3...9 Health regeneration. 5/3/10
7 Healing spring : Trap. For 10 seconds, adjacent allies are healed for 15...51 every 2 seconds. While activating this skill you are easily interrupted. 10/2/20
8: optional. For 1v1 duels bring apply poison. For pve use choice of traps or rez sig.
*All these points are based on a 1-12 attribute point bassis.*
Points are variable but I like to have at least 11 points in weaponry. Expertise is important because those skills will reduce damage greatly and attack faster. Wilderness survival is obviously used in healing.
This is my build of choice in 1v1 warriors with lots of confidence. 75% of the time they use a rispo build, and its even better when they bring dolyock sig. they can weaken and blind you and it will have no effect on your dmg which will be around 30 armor ignoring dmg per second when lightning reflexes is up.
Strategery for tanks : I put up apply poison first, which only poisens when weaponry is not on, so I get that ready first. As they’re running towards me, I set off healing spring. I hit them once to poison them, then cast Illusionary Weaponry. Once that is done casting, I use Lightning reflexes and wait till that runs out.
Depending on their build, they should be hurting pretty bad right now, likely casting healing sig or some other sort of healing, and you’re health should be rather high because you were dodging most of their attacks and getting a pretty good heal. Here’s where things vary, and why it takes time to get used to the build. You can blind, troll unguent, or whirling defenses. Only go for healing spring when they are blind or at least you have a stance up. If he has you bleeding, I would normally go with whirling defenses and troll unguent. That way you can save your blind with healing spring.
Strategery for casters : you’re pretty much boned actually. Any good caster should beat you here, unless they don’t do enough dmg due to you high elemental armor
Strategery for pve : this is just fun, and its an effective build in pve. You high dmg will be to bosses and tanks. You’ve got good armor for ele dmg and you’re stances/ blind should keep you alive very well. In fact, you may save some other tanks with you blind and healing spring. Remember troll for self heal as well.
This is one of my favorite build to use in pve and I find humor in using the peppermint sword and shield. If you don’t have said items, then any starter weapon will do fine. I remember showing people my 4-6dmg tribal blade (they wanted to see my weapon, after killing bosses mostly) and then watching them get angry cause they thought I was lying. On a side note, the katana and skull shield look rather well with the drakeskale armor dyed white/silver.
So, there you have it, another unsusual build. Hope you enjoy :)P
