PvP (player vs. player) is a major part of guildwars and needs a lot of skill to be able to master it. Most of the time may be referring to the tomb but some of the tips may help in other PvP places.
THE TEAM
The team is the key in PvP, without a good team it will be a useless attempt of a battle. Most people just get a team with 4 warrior and 4 monks but you will get nowhere with that. You must mix it up have different classes in your team, have a different team each time you play and find out what works best, pick players who use moves that support your player and makes your skills better in battles. Don’t just look at a players primary class look at there second class as that is a major part of that player, also check that players attributes and see if he has good skills to support your skills.
Pick your team wisely.
YOUR PLAYER
Your player in PvP must be the class you are best at even if you don’t have a PvE player of that class. What most people do is pick a PvP pre-made character, the problem with that is that you did not make that character you did not pick his skills so he will probably not suit your needs right. If you want a character for PvP who you do not have a PvE for make one a pick the skills you want, the skills that work best for you and have the same second class as you want your PvP character to be. Once you have got the skills you want you can delete that character and add the skill to a PvP character of your own or keep that character for PvP, the choice is up to you.
THE STRATEGIES
Now we get to your plan in battle (this part is mainly for the tomb but some part my be used elsewhere) To start you want to get yourself some monks 2-3 for tombs no more, no less, once you have done that you want to get a caller, a caller is someone who calls out a target that everyone must attack LISTEN TO YOUR CALLER if he is any good he will go for the most annoying targets first, generally monks first but may change if a different target is harder. The rest of the people in your group must be mixed up classes as I said before. Once in battle it’s simple but there are a few rules you must follow if you want to survive.
• Stay together in a group so you monks don’t have to run around the place healing and it make spells like heal area much more effective.
• If you are fighting multiple teams always watch your back make sure there is no-one coming to attack you.
• Fight in a block make sure no-one is split up because that person will become singled out and attack and killed very quickly, also when you are in a block it is harder for their caller to get the right target they want.
• And most important of all have fun after all that’s what games are for.
