Well im here, eating my wonderful leftovers from thanksgiving, hope you all had a great one also. So I decided ill be somewhat productive by producing another ranger guide. Hope you enjoy it and cronstructive critism is welcomed but please no flaming. This guide is meant for AB. Great for capping and mainly breaking up those large mobs.

Marksmanship=15
Expertise=9ish
Fire Magic=10ish

Skill Set:




Equiptment
Longbow(preferable Zealous or Vampric if you want the health benifit) or a longbow with +5energy
Druids Armor- I highy recomend using this. the build might be impossible if you dont I think.

How Each Skill affects the Build

1.)Barrage{E}-All your Preperations are removed. Shoot arrows at up to 6 foes adjacent to your target. These arrows strike for +1-13 damage if they hit.
(note: Barrage disables all active Preparations)….So this is one of the main attacks in the build. Basically spam this as much as you can all the time and especially after you have laid down firestorm and meteor shower.


2.)Glyph Of Lesser Energy-Glyph. Your next Spell costs 15 less Energy to cast.The Key to this is using it right before you lay down meteor shower, Its pretty much what keeps your builds energy going, without it. Life would be tough.

3.)Meteor shower-Spell. Create a Meteor Shower at target foe's location. For 9 seconds, foes adjacent to that location are struck for 7-91 fire damage and knocked down every 3 seconds. This Spell causes Exhaustion.The largest damage dealer, this does around 70-80 a drop. cast this immediatly after meteor shower.

4.)Firestorm-Spell. Creat a Fire Storm at target foe's location. For 10 seconds, foes adjacent to that location are struck for 5-24 fire damage each second.This just primarly adds to the damage dealing by creating more AoE.

5.)Dodge-For 5-10 seconds, you move 33% faster than normal and have a 27-65% chance to evade incoming arrows. Dodge ends if you attack.This should help you not only cap but dodge Ele skills along with other rangers.

6.) Savage Shot-If Savage Shot hits, your target's action is interrupted. If that action was a spell, you strike for 13-25 damage.I always like having an extra interupt around just in case, you can probably replace this with any other bow shot.

7.) Whirling Defense-For 8-18 seconds, you have 75% chance to "block" attacks. Whenever you block a projectile in this way, adjacent foes take 5-10 piercing damage.A great evade for all sort of melee and bow attacks generally i apply this whenever im about to cast meteor shower cause there are other rangers who love interupting out there.

8.)Lightening Reflexes-For 5-10 seconds, you have a 75% chance to "evade" melee and projectile attacks, and you attack 33% faster.Another evade move, I use this when spamming barrage cause I can(with my short bow) get another extra couple shots on the mob.

How It Works!
Capping- If your alone or with some other people it is very easy to cap a shrine depending on what type it is. Monk Shrines are very hard with this build as well as some ele shrines cause they love to spike >.< . But to start off I would grab my longbow, Set up your glyph get in range where you can cast but the NPCs cant really see you and cast meteor shower followed up by firestorm. Fall back a little, then spam your barrage so they cant cast at your cause your out of their range. See the NPCs Will stay on their little shrine even if AoEs are hitting them. Each time you spam barrage with the 2 spells up, you do roughly 100+ damage. This takes the NPCs down in a couple seconds. The key is AoE fire skills with spammed barrage.

Large Groups- This is pretty similar to capping but alot harder. you have humans with actual intelligence besides programing. I use this when both sides of the fight are at it so they dont see me. I do the same skill order as i have in the capping section. When a human or alot of humans come after you start using your evades till you get out of there, unless you can take them with their current HP.



Some of the skills on here are replaceable as I put them there cause i needed a new slot, like savage shot and lightening reflexes. Like i said constructive critism is welcomed and so are friendly comments! :-D hope you enjoy!

at first i thought u were gonna take on a large mob all by urself, but i read on and i found out otherwise (good thing too b/c it's unlikely that anybody can really take on a WHOLE mob by themselves)

Nice looking guide, though you confused me at first. I was expecting to see glyph of lesser energy, but I think that's the picture for glyph of essence, which makes your next spell cast instantly. I was thinking you would have some serious energy problems.

looks like a great build, but i would suggest maybe squeezing in immolate for when an opposing player breaks towards you, also could help while avioiding all the attacks if its a mellee character

Throwing a conjure flame in there would be sweet to go along with barrage, maybe drop lightning. nice build!

And it is possible to take on a whole group... mostly :)

no self heal..and firestorm and meteor shower go as well on a ranger as they do on a warrior. fail
