This build will be unusable until Nightfall comes out on the 27th, but I put it together during that preview weekend, and am terribly excited about posting it here, mainly due to the fact that chances are no one has ever posted any builds that even involve these skills. I used this build in place of the wildly popular “shock war.” Which apparently is the only build warriors are allowed to play (yes, I know there are others but this is definitely the most popular) I found this variation of the build to work much, MUCH better then the stock pre-made you can pick. So, I will make the bold statement that this build, will be the new standard for the “shock axe warrior.”

SKILLS:

Rage of the Ntouka{E}
Gain 1...6 strike of adrenaline. For 10 seconds, whenever you use an adrenaline Skill, that Skill recharges for 5 seconds.

Shock
Target touched foe is knocked down and struck for 10...50 lightning damage. This skill has 25% armor penetration and causes exhaustion.

Penetrating Blow
If this attack hits, you strike for +5...17 damage. This axe attack has 20% armor penetration.

Executioner's Strike
If this attack hits, you strike for +10...34 damage.

Counter Attack
If this attack hits, you strike for +5...25 damage. If you hit an attacking foe, you gain 2...5 Energy.

Disrupting Chop
If it hits, this attack interrupts the target's current action. If that action was a skill, that skill is disabled for an additional 20 seconds.

Lion's Might
You are healed for 30...70 Health, and you gain 5 Health for each rank in Tactics.

Resurrection Signet
Resurrect target party member. That party member is returned to life with 100% Health and 25% Energy. This signet only recharges when you gain a Morale Boost.

HOW TO USE:
I’m sure most people already know how to play a shock axe, but for those who don’t here is how. Call a target, or select the called target. Fill up your adrenaline. Use shock, hence its namesake, as soon as they hit the ground, unload all your attacks on them. You used to have to use frenzy to fill up, but basically as soon as Rage of the Ntouka charge, use it and you will have full adren. If you have enough energy and your target is attacking, continue to spam Counterattack until Rage is recharged, if they aren’t attacking then use it under your own discretion, due to the fact it uses energy. Rez fallen allies. Simple!

NOTES:
While explaining this build to a team mate I took flack for replacing Eviscerate (the former elite of the build) and that I basically had no spike. I understand that this build does not offer a deep wound, feel free to replace Disrupting Chop with Dismember . I however, found that Disrupting chop is more effective because they ALWAYS try and use a skill as soon as they stand up.
This build is more effective because instead of waiting for your adren to fill up, you are guaranteed a spike every 15 seconds, and don’t expose yourself by using Frenzy. The addition of Counterattack lets you actually GAIN energy if you hit an attacking foe, so it helps a great deal with energy management. You can also dump as many points as you want to into axe and strength with out having to worry about healing, because now Strength, has an adren based healing spell (throw any extra points into Tactics however to help its effectiveness.)
Weapons, I would suggest Furious Axe of Fortitude, and PVP Strength Shield (+30hps 5dam 20%) unless you have a better one.
I am fully aware that these skills can change at any given moment, with out notice, but if they don’t here is a head start for you. Let me know any criticism or suggestions.

Who else would give you the future, before it arrives?
-FUTURE MAN

Ooh, I like it alot. Ican't wait to try it out when Nightfall comes out ^^;

Yep  puffydog on 10/07/06 08:25

Respect for putting this build together, lets hope they didn't balance any of those in meanwhile ;)

the mini man on 10/07/06 08:50

forgot the name but the elite Escervate is a powerful skill thats y its used

escervate + Executioner's Strike since deep wound add on after the next attack this mean about 130-180 dammage in 2 hits i like the build tho i will try it out

=D

  Danisth on 10/07/06 09:01

I like this build but i wouldn't call it the new shock axe because there is going to be a new skill (destructive chop) that does tons of spike damage. I think that skill will just replace eviscerate in the shock axe build. However your build is a much more balanced preassure build.

  vorsty on 10/07/06 10:40

how do you plan on dividing the atributes ??
because lions strenghts is a strenghts skill(not 100% sure) but for it to work propperly you will still need a good amount of tactics.

  Chaz Rea on 10/07/06 10:41

There seems to be a few problems with this build:

No IAS
Very little spiking power
No Deep Wound
No speed boost to counter kiting

  Yidd on 10/07/06 11:15

^what he said.

AND i would like to know the recharge time of lions might.. as far as i recall it was 30 seconds or something and that's just too much for a heal.

  KahlanXvii on 10/07/06 11:17

lions might is adrenaline based

The Zach Attack on 10/07/06 11:49

I like this, but I'll probly take out Counter Strike for Rush, and maybe something else for Bull's Strike

The True Myth on 10/07/06 12:01

No Deep Wound ftl. The reason u have Shock is to be able to adrenaline spike a knocked down target. U cant spike without Deep Wound.

  hambones on 10/07/06 12:03

.............

frenzy, sprint?

i'd like to see someone try to run this, lol.

this will definitely NOT be the new shock war in nightfall, gg.

  Txen_Viong on 10/07/06 14:00

the old shock war (not the premade)
Has speed boosts, atk boosts, Bulls Strike (gotta lova that, landed a 100 on a necro last night as he tried to run), and the shock + ias deepwound spike.

Yes, the PREMADE one isn't that good, but its just taking out like 2 skills and changing them and you can see how much better it is.

  Dark Knight on 10/07/06 14:53

Looks v.nice, can't wait to see other new builds. thanks

  Dark Knight on 10/07/06 17:19

Btw maybe you should change counter attack to "For great Justice!", so when you use Rage of the Ntouka you can immediately fire off your adrenaline skills again...?

  Farthest Point on 10/07/06 19:11

Your missing the whole point of the shock warrior. Your just adding a random new skill. The point of the shock warrior is to build adrenaline then spike with his Evis (deepwound) + exc s.

  Pickletron on 10/07/06 20:41

Looks interesting :D
(What's IAS btw, i'm so ot of it today.)

EDITOR's NOTES:  Future Man on 10/07/06 21:26

Since I cannot edit my post I will add the comment here, hopefully for all to see.

I neglected to put this in the How To Use: section and now regret that. I thought it was simple but apperantly not everyone grasps it.
First you use Rage of the Ntouka, which completly fills all your adreniline skills (with 16 strength it gives you 8 adren) There is no need to "build adreniline" with this build anymore, so adding frenzy or For Great Justice wouldn't matter. Then you shock, the person down, eventually they have to stop so you don't need sprinit or rush (although I agree that adding them couldn't hurt)
For all the people complaining about "waaahh no deep wound." Please read the entire guide, I adress that issue.
Also, Lion's Might doesn't have any recharge time, it's adren based so you can use it as often as you would like.

Thank you for everyone who commented and is willing to give this a try when you are able too.

  Txen_Viong on 10/07/06 22:13

Frenzy isn't for build adreniline, its for the ias for the spike after shock...

  Dark Knight on 10/08/06 06:40

Hmmm, I think this combo would be better, correct me if I'm wrong:
Executioners, Penetrating, Shock distrupting, For great Justice,Rage of the Ntouka (+14 adrenaline) then fire off attacking skills again.

IAS stands for incresed attack speed :-)

  hambones on 10/08/06 13:00

do you guys even know HOW to play a shock war?

like said earlier, frenzy is used for the IAS in spikes, and sprint is used for A) cancelling frenzy so you don't take double damage, B) running back to the GL if you're getting ganked, C) running a flag (if your flagger is down), or D) running relics in HA.

this build will not work, trust me. people will still use the old-fashioned shock warrior, nobody will use this build.

  Punisher Zero on 10/08/06 14:09

where is frenzy or sprint?

i agree hambones this wil never work being a very experienced shock warrior myself.. u need sprint or rush and frenzy.. im sry but this will never make it past the original

the mini man on 10/08/06 17:18

Future man i think u should have picked a diffrent title

And yes deepwound is a very important skill on a persons kill bar

16 str is not needed i would rather have more attributes in axe

  Txen_Viong on 10/08/06 22:29

Hmm, how about the old shock war vrs future mans? >:)

I think that the old one would win, also this build will be too weak if theres a mesmer using anti adrenaline skills (the old shock war was still able to deal damage if under htose conditions).

  Corruplt Intrept on 10/09/06 08:12

Advise:Since its nightfall, trash distrupting chop for critical chop
(10 recharge). thats all i can say for now... cant think ATM. goodluck on your build

BTW all ppl who wants to argue: distrupting takes a time to charge andrenal. its approximately same time for recast.

  geemann on 10/09/06 20:43

OMG THEYRE CHANGING THE PREMADE BUILDS!!!! BLESS YOU LORD!!!!

  anan saman on 10/17/06 14:29

plz guys, dont be angry at him, he just posted an idea, he never said it would pass the old ones

  martatar on 10/30/06 15:30

not angry at him, just pointing out weaknesses of this build. it might be used somewhere by someone, it's rather a version of dragon warrior (axe version). It can't be used as versatile as evi/shock warrior. No deep wound (evi + exe = lot'o'dmg). so dmg goes down... and no IAS boosts nor movement boosts....

anyway, it's always nice when someone thinks of something fresh... that's important if we don't want to be swarmed by w/e's and touchers... evolution ehh?? ^^
