The Hit and Run Assassin

I’ve found this build to very effective and fun as well.
The idea is to get in do a lot of damage and get out as quickly as possible.

My Armor and Weapon:

My attributes:

The Skills:

1. Virulence Elite Skill
If target foe was already suffering from a condition, that foe suffers from disease, poison, and weakness for 3-15 seconds. This is an elite skill.

2. Unsuspecting Strike
Lead Attack. If this attack hits, you strike for +19-29 damage. If your target was above 90% Health you deal an additional 10-34 damage.

3. Wild Strike
Off-Hand Attack. Must follow a lead attack. If it hits, this attack strikes for +8-18 damage and target foe losses all Stances.

4. Twisting Fangs
Dual Attack. Must follow an off-hand attack. If it hits, Twisting Fangs strikes for +10-18 damage and struck foe suffers from Bleeding and Deep Wound for 5-17 seconds.

5. Viper's Defense
Stance. For 30 seconds, the next time you are struck, teleport to a nearby random location. The foe who struck you is poisoned for 5-17 seconds.

6. Dark Escape
Stance. For 5-13 seconds, you move 25% faster and take half damage. Dark Escape ends if you successfully hit with an attack.

7. Way of the Fox
Enchantment Spell. For 10-30 seconds, your next 1-5 attacks cannot be "blocked" or "evaded."

8. Shadow Refuge
Enchantment Spell. For 4 seconds, you have gain 5-9 Health regeneration. When Shadow Refuge ends, you gain 20-68 Health if you are attacking.

Putting it Together:

Pick your target and start your movement towards him/her.
Cast 7 Way of the Fox, the foe can’t evade your initial attack now or your next 3 attacks with the current attribs.

Move in on target and do 2, 3 and 4. the foe is now damaged, bleeding and wounded.

Now use your elite Virulence, the foe now has a -10 health degeneration, he’s suffering from a deep wound and now he’s suffering from weakness. In other words he’s in deep dudu. :P

Hit him/her with one more lead attack.

Cast Vipers defense and let him hit you for a added poisoning.

Time to run, use dark escape.

Shadow Refuge to heal yourself.

Rinse and repeat

Alternatives:

Consider replacing Vipers Defense for one of the following.
Res Sig
Recall
Signet of Malice

I found this combo to be a lot of fun.

Enjoy!

umm. i must be missing something here...
how does ur target start bleeding?
and i don't think you really need to use viper's defence because virulence already causes poisoning, if u want to pop out i would use heart of the shadow
but it does look like a fun build, i think i'll try it out

and for others who would like to use this build: change virulence for like seeping wound or something in PvP or fighting other human enemies like jade brotherhood because disease would spread to your team as well and no one wants that...

my 2 cents :D

  vvolfenstein on 09/25/06 18:10

Umm target starts bleeding from twisting fangs which also adds the deep wound so after this combo fo is suffering from poison, disease, weakness, bleeding and deep wound. Since your using vipers defense as a return move i suggest you switch it with return(not sure waht its called) which teleports you to a random location and leavs adjacent foes crippled. Then hed really be screwed...

  vvolfenstein on 09/25/06 18:14

When you use disease it does not spread to your allies. forgot that part. And over all good guide i think i might try this out. Oh and by the way if you have a bad luck streak with no crits hitting you have no energy left to use a running skill after you use your combo. Unsuspecting costs 10 energy, wild costs 5, twisting fangs costs 10, and virulence costs 5. Last time i checked that costs 30. You wont have much energy from solely the energy. Maybe instead of way of the fox you can use something to increase crit strikes maybe critical eye since you have high enough critical it should last quite long.

My two-five cents Lol

woops  bman_rules on 09/25/06 19:07

thnx for clearing up the bleeding part, i got to check up on my reading ability because i am sure i read it twice to make sure i wasn't making a fool of myself...but i did xD

but..."In PvP, disease will spread amongst all players on the battlefield that come into close proximity, regardless of what side they are on."-guildwiki
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Disease

i dont wanna make to much of a hassle about this...

  Nihzu on 09/26/06 05:16

Disease spreads among creatures of the same race, true... However I guess since a proper assassin will go for the more tender targets, you'll go hit one at the back of the pack anyway.
Personally I find Viper's Defense a bit overkill, since Virulence already adds Poison. I'd rather put Return in there. That way you can also take out Dark Escape, and add Plague Touch to get rid of Disease if it spreads to you, or if you get Blinded.
Another alternative would be to alternate Viper's Defense and Virulence in your sequence, that way you're few steps away before Disease hits.
Besides this, great build IMO, pretty much exactly what I'm aiming for on my A/N :)

  Nihzu on 09/26/06 05:21

Oy, forgot...
About energy management, look at the Sais, +5 Energy... 30 Base total, looks pretty good to me.

  Nihzu on 09/26/06 05:35

Uh... I had written a comment but looks like it's gone o.O
Ok let's start over :|

Disease will spread among creatures of the same species however I guess your primary targets will be the more tender ones, i.e. those at the back of the pack. It shouldn't impair your team.

Viper's Defense is a bit overkill IMO since Virulence already adds poison. Maybe replace it with Return, which also allows you to get rid of Dark Escape and take Plague Touch instead in case you get Blinded or Crippled before you get to finish your combo for example.

As for energy management, the Sais have a +5 bonus straight out of the box, looks pretty good to me. Maybe a few armour parts for extra boost, or have a friendly necro cast BR on you (which will also cover Way of the Fox)...

Pretty potent build IMO, only problem I see it about getting fast enough to your target.

  Nihzu on 09/26/06 05:39

Uh my bad... This website is creepy lol

VERY nice idea, I'll try it out :)

In fact this isn't the case as it doesn't disease me :)

  Nihzu on 09/26/06 07:11

Forget about my comment on not getting fast enough to the target, I was seeing Dark Escape as a defensive/retreat tool only...

  Solicity on 09/26/06 09:32

what where you testing it on? they would need to be human for it to spread to you.

  One Swordsman on 09/26/06 12:02

Using this build with Zealous daggers, really nice damage :)

  Wyat_hawke on 09/26/06 15:24

just an Idea for energy management, use golden lotus strike instead.

you will get roughly 10-12 energy back instead of using unsuspecting strike.

Or you can use golden phoenix strike, and then switch out unsuspecting strike for something else.

Just my thoughts, a gr8 guide btw...

  Anal_phabet on 09/26/06 20:46

I dunno you but i would take wild strike out and put something else? The stance breaker isnt really important since you cant be evaded or blocked with way of the fox. Anyway, sounds really good, but im getting tired of sin already, so ill pass :)

  kotaro on 09/28/06 17:47

For my Pvp Assasin I use Zealous Daggers of (w/e) that way I never run out of energy.

  Obsidian shadow on 10/02/06 00:06

try throwing blinding powder in between wild strike and twisting fangs after taking out viper's defense. That way hes/shes suffering from degen. and can't hit anyone either xD

Try this build !  Joker The Mad on 10/12/06 16:16

Ok this is my assasin AB build ! Try it out sometimes, it really works like a charm !

--How to play--

When using this build make sure to put on critical eye before you begin hitting someone(for energy while attacking). Use leaping mantis strike and dash to get closer to target then when closed up on target hit Shove then Falling Spider and then Twisting fangs.
Then use shadow refuge for healing and enchantment spell to get energy from golden lotus strike.
Use dash to get in a fight and out again!
When you encounter enemies dont think yur a tank cause yur not ! wait for the battle to begin and pick out a target and hit yur combo on him and get out or continue to next target!
This build can kill reall fast if used proper!

Have fun with the build and if you have improvements or ideas pls let me know!
