This is a build that I've been playing with in AvA and I quite like it. It's very risky and challenging to play because you're going to be sacrificing alot of health. But once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to survive easily and spike anything.
This build is designed to do medium AoE damage and massive spiking damage to one target. By the time you kill one person, all those around you should be at 50% health or less.
-Keep Illusion of Weakness up at all times. This is your lifesaver, without it you'll end up saccing yourself to death every time. Before every battle, cast it and have someone heal you.
-Before going into battle, cast Dark Aura then Cultist's Fervor.
-To get into touch range, you can either cast one of the touch skills or you could switch your weapons to melee.
-Once you're in touch range, use Shadow Strike first. This will do massive damage immediately. 92 damage alone, but with Dark Aura, you'll do 133 damage plus 41 AoE to everyone else.
-Then use one or both of the touch skills. You need your target at 50% or less health. Barring heals, you shouldn't have a problem with this.
-Once your target is at 50% or less health, use Taste of Pain. This won't do damage to the target(except Dark Aura), but you will get healed for 101 health.
-Unholy Feast can be used at any time. It's a healer and damager. You will get healed for 63 health. But the best part is the damage you will do. Dark Aura does 41 AoE and Unholy Feast does 61 damage AoE. This equals 102 damage on 4 targets.
For weapons, I use a Blood Staff with +5 armor and 20% enchantments. I am planning on using a melee weapon and offhand instead, as I can get more out of it.
You probably should use a +5 energy weapon with an enchanting mod on it. Prefix does not matter.
Offhands, I would use a 20/20 blood.
Armor doesn't really matter here, it's a matter of preference. Energy armor would be nice, but since your energy management is so powerful, it's not needed. Probably the best idea is to get a higher AL set, as you'll be in melee range alot.
Thanks for reading my guide and I hope you have fun with this. I realize that this build is not very powerful defensively, but it's a fun thing to do when you run up to someone and do massive damage almost instantly.
This is still a work in progress, and I hope to get some help from the community in making it better. So if you have any suggestions/hints, please let me know! :P
