Intro:

This is my first guide that I have made. This build was meant to be used in Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry. But can be modified for other things like PvE or other Pvp arenas. The primary skills are Life Transfer, Life Siphon, Vampiric Gaze, and Lifebane Strike (Can Be replaced with Shadow Strike). Which cause massive degeneration of the opponents health and also deal damage.

Skills and Attributes:

Awaken the Blood
For 20-39 seconds, you gain +2 Blood Magic and +2 Curses, but whenever you sacrifice health, you sacrifice 50% more than the normal amount.

Life Siphon
For 12-22 seconds, target suffers health degeneration of 1-3, and you gain health regeneration of 1-3.

Life Transfer Elite Skill
For 6-12seconds target foe suffers Health degeneration of 3-8 which you gain as Health regeneration.

Lifebane Strike
Spell. Target foe takes 12-41 shadow damage. If that foe's health is above 50%, you steal up to 12-41 health.

Vampiric Gaze
Steal 18-52 health from target foe.

Strip Enchantment
Target foe loses one enchantment, and you gain 30-102 health.

Rend Enchantments
Target foe loses 5-8 enchantments. For each Monk enchantment removed, you take 55-31 damage.

Faintheartedness
Hex Spell. For the next 5-29 seconds, target foe attacks 50% slower, and that foe suffers health degeneration of 1-3.

Blood Magic: 12+2+1=15
Curses: 10+1=11
Soul Reaping: 8+1=9

Equipment:

Almost any weapons can be used but something with energy bonus and halves recharge times would be good.

I use:
PvP Truncheon
11-22 (Blood Magic Req. 9)
Halves Skill Recharge of Blood Magic (Chance: 20%)
Energy +5 (While Health is above 50%)

PvP Idol
+12 Energy (Blood Magic Req. 9)
Halves Casting Time of Blood Magic (Chance: 20%)
Halves Skill Recharge of Blood Magic (Chance: 20%)

How To Use:

First before a battle cast Awaken the Blood for a extra boast of power. Then right when the battle starts cast Life Transfer and Life Siphon on one target and spam Lifebane Strike and Vampiric Gaze at that opponent until it dies. If the opponent was a Warrior, Ranger, or Assassin cast Faintheartedness on it and continue on spamming.

If more then one person is in the area cast Life Siphon on some of them and continue to spam Lifebane Strike and Vampiric Gaze on one target at a time.

Usually In Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry there are bonders that’s is where the Enchantment removers come in. Cast Rend Enchantments on a target that has a enchantment and if it stills has one cast the second spell Strip Enchantment which should take care of the health that you lost with Rend Enchantments. This is more helpful with the Luxons in Fort Aspenwood then it is with the Kurzicks. But it seems evenly helpful in Jade Quarry.

Thank you for reading my first guide and any comments would be nice to help me get better on my further guides,
General Silver

A nice guide. Good use of pictures with explanations of what the skills do and how to use them. I personaly havent seen many if any bonders in Aspenwood or Jade Quarry. So what i would do is go Necro/mesmer, take out one of the enchant removals and put in either more degen such as conjure phantasm or nightmare. Or some engery management skill like energy drain.

Not a bad build, but I usually try to stay focused on one goal for a build. If you were to stick mainly with degen and take a mesemr secondary (^^) you would also be able to work in some energy management, as I see energy may be the biggest weakness here. Also I would throw in parasitic bond as a cover hex. Cast life transfer then immediatly cast bond to cover it, or cast bond to lure out hex removal then cast transfer up to you.

Again though, I see energy as an issue with this build.

really nice build with the pics and stuf but a tip for next time is to number the skills, makes it easier for people whove never seen them before

Thank you  General Silver on 08/29/06 07:46

Thank you for all the advice and also when i was playing this build Energy wasnt really a matter i went fine wihtout energy management

  Alamose on 08/29/06 07:52

Not a bad build, but as Johnny said, energy management would be a problem. All of the spells cost 10 energy which makes them non-spamable. This would team good with a BiP Necro but because this is built for aspenwood/jade quarry, you can't be sure this will be available. I would swap out lifebane strike for some sort of energy management.

As for the disenchantment spells, if you're a luxon, these are a must. I'm a bonder for the kurzics at aspenwood and my worst nightmare is a disenchanter. The best way for us to win is by holding those gates and bonders work best for that. But bonders need enchantments to do so. Thus if you can remove the enchantments then you have a much higher chance of getting through.

As for use, I would say that instead of focusing on players, you should focus on the bonder holding the gate. Put some degen on them and they panic quickly (I would know). But degen them first and then disenchant the last kurzic elementalist or whoever is left holding up the gate. Again, I wouldn't focus on players because it’s all about getting through. Once you are through though, you can redirect your attention to players because the turtles will do most of the work.
