Kirrin/Undergrowth Ranger/Monk Solo
The build:
16 marksmanship (12+mask+sup rune)
9 expertise (8+minor rune)
10 healing prayers
whatever’s left goes into wilderness survival
[SS of my skill bar]
Storm Chaser – for getting around quickly
Barrage – for killing masses at a time!
Whirrling defence – protection
Throw dirt – protection
Lightning Reflexes – protection and a little added damage
Dryders Defence - protection
Vigorous spirit – precious life!
Live Vicariously – More precious life!
The Equipment:
Archers Mask of superior marksmanship
And full max armor (I use druids, but anything will work)
Any “Zealous shortbow of ___” will work, however I like a 15%^50% or a 15% in a stance would also work well here.
I use one sup rune on my helm (to get marksmanship to 16) and 1 minor rune (expertise)
Health isn’t an issue really – I rarely drop below 90%, however any vigor runes are always welcome.
The run:
Follow the left hand wall, killing everything you see, until you see the first warden, then cut across to the east until you see 4 kirrin, that’s the sign of the end of your run.
Why farm these guys?
1) I’ve not brought in a run that was worth less than 1.5k when you included mats/items, and sometimes I’ve brought in as much as 4k in one run. (each run takes about 3-5 minutes)
2) Farming for a ranger, need to get some quick skill points for your ranger? In one run you can get a full skill point if you use a hero’s insight scroll.
3) New challenge… well maybe not challenge, it’s a whole lot easier than a troll farm, faster for killing each mob, and there are a lot more mobs.
4) Keys! If you happen to be a faction runner at lutgardis conservatory (most rangers can/are), these guys drop kurzick keys fairly commonly (for keys anyway).
5) The obvious goes last: Money. It’s generally as profitable as 4 troll runs, or 3 minotaur runs, and takes slightly less time than that amount of either.
