I know people are probably fed up with vermin farming builds, but I'd just like to contribute one I made up.

I'm not going to go into detail about how to get there, as there are 2 other great guides on gameamp that describe that for you. I am just offering an alternative build for those who want to use a sword rather than an axe.

Attribute Points

Runes
Sup Absorption
Maj Vigor
Maj Sword
Min Strength

Skills

1 - Hundred Blades
2 - Galrath Slash
3 - Bonnetis Defense
4 - Dolyak Sig
5 - I Will Survive
6 - Vigorous Spirit
7 - Mending
8 - Live Vicariously

Weapons

Or equivalent. Can certainly use other sword mods like sundering. Be wary if you use a vamp sword as the vermin constantly poison you and make you bleed. You dont wanna get overwhelmed with degen, but I will explain further how to counter this (i hope its a no brainer :P)

Armor
I use platemail, but any other max armor would certainly work as well. I picked platemail because of the +1 to strength helm which helps with the duration of dolyak sig.

Usage
Before aggroing any group, cast mending and live vicariously. Aggro as many groups as desired, i've done 4-5 groups at a time. Cast dolyak sig and then use Hundred Blades. This should gain you more than enough adrenaline to use Bonnetis to quickly regain your energy. Cast Vigorous Spirit and use Galrath Slash to deal extra damage while waiting for Hundred Blades to recharge. Cast Dolyak Sig whenever its recharged as the vermin constanly knock you down as well. Use Hundred Blades whenever recharged followed by Galrath Slash. Use Bonneti's Defense whenever desired for fast energy gain. Now for the degen that you will receive. As mentioned prior, you will bleed and be poisoned. The mending at +3 takes care of bleeding and the health gained by vigorous spirit and live vicariously should be more than enough to counter poison. But if you are in a jam, use I Will Survive. This will provide +6 health regen, more than enough to counter poison's -4. So a vamp sword is quite ok to use, the health you gain more than sustains you during the time it takes for I Will Survive to recharge. Laslty, use I Will Survive whenever recharged.

So there is a sword variant of vermin farming, hope you have fun with it.

do you really need Live vicariously and mending AND vig spirit? surely mending and vig spirit is enough healing, also, with only 1 enchant you could use a zealous sword, that way you can take out bonnetis and another, i would use sun and moon slash for another double hit.

  Solicity on 08/20/06 07:43

it helps to have them both - with an axe anyway. when you get it down to just the boss, you need both to counter his degen while he whacks away at you. doesnt hurt, anyway.

  Solicity on 08/20/06 07:44

also, bonettis isnt just for energy management, but to block alot of the jagged strikes, reducing the amount of times you get knocked down.

Mending is just to counter the health degen done by bleeding. I use live vicar and vig spirit because really there arent other skills to substitute for them. Since hundred blades is an 8 sec recharge, you'll attack half the speed as the axe variant of vermin farming, so the added health gain is a reassurance if things get hairy. Using a zealous sword is pointless, there are 5-6 groups on you at a time, bonnetis is more than enough for energy regen.

mending is just to counter degen, you can't use hundred blades as often as triple chop AND cyclone axe. anyways, great guide, nice to see someone found a good sword variation of my build :)

What is the point of farming out here?

Everyone knows that W/E is the way to go... :P

I have found Vermine farming to be the most relyable source of plats... Its nice to see a sucessfull sword farmer and everyone know W/MO Axe is the best... Where is that W/E Vermine guide?

Hey maybe it would work!

1 Air spell with no points in air hitting for 15 points every 8 seconds for 10 power...I would think about finding a new secondary but it's always nice to see the possibilities.

  PhoenixConcave on 08/24/06 18:08

By plats do u mean platinum or platinum blades?

Dolyak Signet prevents you from being knocked down and with 15 str it lasts the same as its recharge with no cast time or energy cost. i know the str with this build is only 12 but thats still only 3 or 4 second window where he can be knocked down and the comps arent smart enough to know this

Jagged strike doesn't knock you down, it only makes you bleed. Entangling Asp is the skill that knocks you down AND poisons you. Also, you forgot to mention the extra -2 health degen from Shreader's Elite Skill Seeping Wound. If you're suffering from a condition, it'll add an extra -2 degen. But with Vigorous Spirit and Live Vicariously, you'll be fine to counter it.
