I've used this build in both PvE and PvP and it works pretty well. I personally use a Black Moa bird for this, but if you want to really do well with this, I'd suggest using a Reef Lurker/Crab to enable the most stealth. A bigger pet is easy to notice, but a smaller one may be hard to spot.
First off, here are the attributes and the skills you need.
Enraged Lunge:
Your animal companion attempts an Enraged Lunge that deals +23 damage (maximum bonus 80) for each recharging Beast Mastery skill.
Run as One:
For 15 seconds, you and your pet run 25% faster.
Symbiotic Bond:
For 300 seconds, your animal companion gains +3 Health regeneration, and half of any physical damage dealt to your animal companion is redirected to you.
Call of Protection:
For 120 seconds, your animal companions have a 14 base damage reduction.
Predatory Bond:
For 20 seconds, attacks by your animal companion heal you for 31 health.
Comfort Animal:
You heal your animal companion for 104 points. If your companion is dead, it is resurrected with 58% Health.
Charm Animal:
Charm target animal. Once charmed, your animal companion will travel with you whenever you have Charm Animal equipped.
Troll Unguent:
For 10 seconds, you gain Health regeneration of +8.
This is what I usually use. But you can take Run as One out and use Call of Haste too. I use Run as One because then both of us get the speed boost.
You could also take out Run as One and put Otyugh's Cry in, since that will give your pet an extra 20AL bonus.
Armor really isn't that important, but Druid's armor does help a bit with the energy. As you can see, I use two superior runes. The extra health doesn't really matter since people generally attack your pet once they figure out where the damage is coming from.
As for weapon choice, Flatbow or Longbow would work, since they both have the longest range. Really doesn't matter because you aren't dealing damage anyway.
PvE Strategy
Take out Run as One and put Call of Haste or Otyugh's Cry. And take out either Troll Unguent or Predatory Bond and put Res in there.
Simple. Just let the warrior get the aggro, then send your pet in. Cast 2, 3, 4, 5 then cast 1 whenever you can.
PvP Strategy
The idea of this build is to surprise your foe. People don't put much stock into pets, so don't realize their potential.
As you shoot your arrow at your enemy to send your pet to them, cast 2, 3, 4, and 5. Then cast Enraged Lunge. And keep casting Enraged Lunge every time it recharges. Once (2, 3, 4, 5) recharge, recast them. It is essential to keep them recharging for Enraged to work.
Symbiotic Bond is a great skill to use, but you need to use Predatory Bond and Troll Unguent to counter the damage you recieve from this.
With this build, I regularly get 120 damage on 60AL foes; and 70-80 damage on 100AL foes. And this is accomplished every 5 seconds.
One of the great things about using pets is that people don't tend to face pets. Either they run away or they fight someone else, which means that your pet's chance of scoring critical hits is high.
This build is also nice for soloing shrines, GvG bases, etc. Pets have 80 AL, so adding +3 regen, halved damage, and base 14 damage reduction makes this a hard pet to kill.
