Now, this is my first guide, so try to take it easy on me. Any ideas in change of skills, etc. should be considered; keep in mind that I’m the type of player that doesn’t like to just stand back, so aggressive skills can and will come in handy. I know many are not fans of the hammer, so one could customize to how they see fit; personally, I’ll take doing more damage before more armor. The setup included is meant for PvE, but with revisions, can be a good PvP character. In which case, if anyone likes this build, I'll do a W/Ne PvP build. Here we go……

SKILLS:
Well of Blood: nice addition when things get a lil’ hairy or with nukers in the party
Vampiric Touch: helpful when some life is needed and wanting to do some draining; best used one-on-one
Unholy Feast: can be helpful w/ X amount of enemies around (more to drain-gain, opposed to VT)
Suffering: degen can be a beautiful thing
Backbreaker (Elite): knockdown and +x damage
Belly Smash: when enemy(-ies) are blinded, things can be easier
Irresistible Blow: cannot be evaded

For the last skill, I usually pack a Res Signet, but the open space can be used for an optional skill, such as Signet of Capture.

EQUIPMENT:
Any could work really, but I use all Gladiator (except for the Helm- it’s Knight) Drok’s armor with various runes: Minor Strength, Minor and Major Absorption, Minor Hammer Mastery and Major Vigor. I don't really like to use Superior Runes, due to the knock on health.

WEAPON(S):
Currently I’m using a gold Heavy War Hammer of Hammer Mastery (17-32, req. 11, dmg +15% while above 50% health, lengthens weakness by 33%, Hammer Mastery +1.) I have a max damage hammer, but it does not have as many mods.

ATTRIBUTES:
Blood Magic: 9
Death Magic: 4
Curses: 9
Strength: 2
Hammer Mastery: 12

This leaves me with 2 attribute points. I hate not using them, but I haven’t come up with anything yet. I have the attributes set up this way due to my usage of henchies. If you are in a group consisting mostly of PCs, then you can change up Death Magic to 9 and put Curses at 4. That's the good thing about this build; it's flexible.

STRATEGY:
What I’ve found that works is aggresiveness (no silly aggros, though.)

(One Enemy)
Use Vampiric Touch instead of Unholy Feast; you gain more life with VT in a one-on-one scenario. Depending on the situation, you will be less likely to use Well of Blood. If in one-on-one and the enemy has thrown up a Ward vs. Melee, then Irresistible Blow is very handy. Chances are that you will not gain enough adrenaline for Backbreaker.

(Multiple Enemies)
Start off using Unholy Feast when you have at least 2 enemies in your vicinity; the recharge time takes a lil' bit, so if you still wanna drain-gain, use Vampiric Touch. Vampiric Touch takes-gives more than Unholy Feast, but if you have X amount of enemies around, you gain more. When having, whether NPC’s or PC’s, nukers or other “back players,” and you have disposed of an enemy or two, Well of Blood and its heatlh regen can be a god-send to them. When you have the adrenaline built up, use Backbreaker, quickly followed by Belly Smash. Good energy usage is a key; once you get the hang of it, you can time the fluctuation of the skills. Sometimes, you may also wanna pack a Well of Suffering (enemies have -X health degen); it can be helpful in certain situations.

NOTE: Being a Warrior, there's gonna be times when you are blinded; it happens. So, if you find yourself in the situation where you are blinded, the Necro spells REALLY come in handy; especially Vampiric Touch and Unholy Feast. I might end up blinded, but as a Warrior, I'm gonna try and find a way to keep my health up and do damage, no matter how small or large. Sometimes, you have to play "small ball."

It takes a bit of patience with this build; I’ve changed the skills up so many times and have died my fair share of times trying to find what works best in a given situation. Also, this build, much like pretty much all W/* builds, can be a good runner; I’ve opened almost all of the Desert by myself, using henchies as cannon fodder and even fighting through at times. Farming can be quite fun and profitable as well. This was my build for my first character and I still can’t find myself enjoying my other characters. I guess you just never forget your first. :)

Thanx for reading and let me know what ya think!!

Wow dude, this build is not so usefull because, a warrior like you has maximum 27 nrg
than+KD gloves
and if you want Knight boots

  dikke hamster on 07/02/06 12:43

But, I'll certainly try it^^

  Tastal Feral on 07/02/06 13:03

this is certainly a nice build. Could work with axe or sword too. Get a nice totem axe for that +5 or a sword with a +5 energy mod and a total of 32 energy. I'll try it out with the hammer first, but as my avatar says, "I like swords!" lol :)

  Smooth Op on 07/02/06 14:17

Hamster-Yeah that's the bad thing about it. I've become so accustomed to it, that I've actually learned how to use my energy wisely. Which, I have a Mo/R just in2 Post-Searing and I still use my energy wisely as if I were using my W/N.

Feral-I originally would swap between Sword and Axes in Pre- and early Post-Searing, thanx to the mods vs. Charr. Then one of my fellow guild members got a gold hammer pick-up, hooked me up, and I've never went back. When I would use swords, I wouldn't pack many Necro skills due to the many sword skills, so I now have a lil' more balance between the two classes.

  wolfblade on 07/03/06 05:41

sorry but this is one of the worst war builds ive ever seen :(

  Rainbird on 07/03/06 11:58

wolf, if u think a build is bad say why.
Unless u do that, most ppl will see u as the *sshole who has nothing better to do then flame others.

U are absolutely right, when u say that energy management is crucial here. I can see all of the skills coming in handy, but i would probably swap Suffering for something else, 15 nrg is alot, especially when all ur other necro skills has the same cost. I think a good swap would be for Shadow Strike imo

Nice build anyway

  Smooth Op on 07/03/06 21:29

Thanx, Rainbird, but always in life there's one who plays devil's advocate; I just figured some would find it boring since it wasn't another W/Mo farming build. The one spell I like to sub in for Suffering is Life Siphon; that way, not only does the enemy suffer from -x degen, you gain +x regen.

  wolfblade on 07/04/06 06:24

ok the reason i think its bad is because firstly with those attribs you hardly do any damage with the hammer, with 9 blood the blood skills are not even worth it, and 4 of your skills you can hardly ever use anyway with your 20-27 energy and 2 regen.

Tanks shouldnt take self heals its the monks job, instead you should take actual tank skills such as 'shields up' and 'watch yourself'.

Or if that is suppose to be a damage dealing build there is also much better ways such as tigers fury with an axe, or anything with 15-16 in the weapon attrib with at least 10 strength.

  The labmonkey on 07/04/06 09:42

Firstly, that's not a tank build, it's a damage dealer. Therefore skills that steal health allow him to:
-Deal damage through Blind, Weakness, protections and evasion.
-Heal himself. Yes, everyone should take a self heal or damage reduction spell. It is *not* the point of a monk to do all your protection.

Death magic is pointless though, as the build doesn't include any death skills as standard.Additionally, I'd suggest concentrating on either Blood or Curses. 9 Curses is a lot of points just for Suffering, which is only really good with more degen or as a FoC trigger.

If you really like Curses, I'd go with Shadow of Fear. It's cheaper and has a long duration even at low levels. I use it as a cover hex on my Mesmer for that reason. 50% slower attacks can really help protect you too.

If you want to deal with Blind, Plague Touch is probably more efficient due to no req and passing it on to a foe.
If you want to use AOE damage, did you consider Crude Swing? With all adjacent enemies Knocked down, they won't interrupt it.
Just a couple of cheaper alternatives to all those expensive Blood spells.

Also, you have 3 heals but no res. I'd swap Well of Blood out for Res Sig.

  wolfblade on 07/04/06 10:26

If you want to mostly do armour ignoring dmg through blind weakness and evasion with weakening spells then why not be a primary necro, That way you get double the regen, runes for the attribs, and soulreap giving you even more energy. As a warrior you can just cast 2 of those spells then wait another 20 seconds to get back the energy. With only 9 blood the damage is low anyway.

  Smooth Op on 07/04/06 11:04

Labmonkey-I do use a res sig as my final skill. Also, I never thought of using any AOE skills, as they could be helpful. I mainly have the 4 in Death and the Well of Blood for the nuker in my guild; he gets whooped up on and, hey, something's better than nothing. Plus it makes it a lil easier on the tank in the guild so that he doesn't have to keep such a close eye on the nuker.

Wolf-I can see your side. But as others have mentioned, I do not claim to be a tank; if that's what I wanted, I be the typical W/Mo. That aside, any group I have been apart of, me being able, regardless of the 9 ranks, to heal not only myself but chisle away at the enemy helps make things a lil bit easier on everyone else in the group.

This build, though yes, it's not perfect by any means (what build is?)is just something different for people who get bored of boon, nuke, 55, and tanks.

  muffin mannn on 07/05/06 08:28

If you ever have energy problems I have a w/n that i sometimes use in pvp based on ss (i was real bored that day and liked it in the end) and i used a necro offhand for the energy. It would prolly work great in this build if you switched out the hammer for an axe or sword

Why do you have 4 attribute points in Death Magic? You aren't even using any Death Magic skills. I'd take those out and put more into strength if I were you. And as for the over all build, I don't think that it's very good. If you want to use that many necro skills and want to be very good with them, be a necro. You can concentrate more points in blood, have better energy regen, have more enrgy, and get extra energy from soul reaping. Warriors are not meant to cast high energy spells or be spell casters period. Why do you think they only gave warriors 2 energy regen with a max energy of 27 (with glad's)? And even if you are good with energy management, big whoop. All it would take is for an enemy to interrupt your spells once or twice, and then BAM....you have no energy and your spells did you no good. IMO, the build sucks. But don't take it personally, you sound like a good chap, just find a better build for your warrior/necro.

  smasher on 07/05/06 17:36

one of the worse builds i've seen in gameamp.. srry dude buy honesttly a warrior has 27 energy tops.. ad your stacking with all these spells that do no dmg with such low attributr=es to em

  Smooth Op on 07/06/06 15:21

One of the worst builds? Dang.....it's okay, though. Actually I'm glad that there's some negative comments; if there isn't any negativity (as long as it's not called for/overboard) then someone could think this is a gr8 build and I prolly wouldn't enjoy it as much. I never have, nor will I ever, try to claim that this is the gr8est build or I'm the gr8est GW player on the planet. I venture to say that teh majority of GW player's have odd builds and know not what could work in what way. I do know that, from what I have read, 99% of the player's who post on here mean no ill will or malice, so I don't really take the negativity to heart. I know that there's tons of ideas for maybe 5 main builds and just wanted to contribute my different idea for those who just wanna try something off the wall and kooky enough that it just might work. I just wanna say thanx to all who commented; I'm just happy that ya'll took at least 5 mins. to read and post; whether u liked it or not.

I wonder if ANet would give me the title of "Author: Worst Build on GameAmp?" :)
