Hello. This is my first guide, and is meant for use in PvP random arenas, although it may work in other places (haven't tried). I haven't seen anyone post or use this build, but if anyone has, I apologize.
Here's an overview of the build, which I will break into pieces and explain:

Weapons

Forehand: Any weapon. You really don't need to bother with a forehand weapon, though it can be used deceptively to make people think you have a different build (I use a water wand, so people think I'm a hydromancer).
Offhand:

Armor

I use the +health elementalist armor, along with an energy storage headpiece. Any armor would work with this build; really doesn't matter which you pick (as long as it's max armor ^^).

Attributes

Energy Storage: 14 (Headpiece+minorrune)
Healing Prayers: 12
Note: I use the minor rune because it doesn't matter how much energy storage used, and the extra life helps with survival.

Skills

1.Ether Prodigy {E}
Elite Enchantment Spell. Lose all Enchantments. For 19 seconds, you gain Energy regeneration of 6. When Ether Prodiy ends, you take 2 damage for each point of Energy you have. This spell causes Exhaustion.

2.Orison of Healing
Heal target ally for 60 health.

3.Healing Breeze
For 10 seconds, target ally gains health regeneration of 8.

4. Mending
While you maintain this enchantment, target ally gains health regeneration of +3. In addition to the initial energy cost, you also lose 1 point of energy regeneration while the enchantment is in effect.

5. Live Vicariously
While you maintain this enchantment, whenever target ally hits a foe, you gain 14 health. In addition to the initial energy cost, you also lose 1 point of energy regeneration while the enchantment is in effect.

6. Watchful Spirit
While you maintain this enchantment, target ally gains health regeneration of +2. That ally is healed for 30 health when Watchful Spirit ends. In addition to the initial energy cost, you also lose 1 point of energy regeneration while the enchantment is in effect.

7. Holy Veil
While you maintain this enchantment, any hex cast on target ally takes twice as long to cast. When Holy Veil ends one hex is removed from target ally.

8. Ressurection Signet
Signet. Ressurect target party member. That party member is returned to life with 100% Health and 25% Energy. This signet only recharges when you gain a morale boost.

Strategy

This build is designed for Random Arenas, keep that in mind.

1. Right at the beginning, cast:
a. Mending - On all allies except thyself.
b. Watchful Spirit - On all allies except thyself.
c. Live Vicariously - On warriors/rangers/assassins.
d. Holy Veil - On allied monks, if need be.
After casting two enchantments, cast Ether Prodigy, and keep casting more enchantments. Keep in mind to cast the enchantments in that order. Stop casting enchantments when you are maintaining 8 of them. That will leave you with 2 energy regeneration.

2. Keep behind your party, away from the enemies. When an ally gets hurt, cast Orison of Healing or Healing Breeze if they are having trouble. If any of your enchantments are removed, simply recast them. If any allies get hexed, use Holy Veil, then quickly remove it to get rid of the hex.

3. Keep Ether Prodigy up constantly. Just recast it when the icon starts flashing. When you cast Ether Prodigy, you lose all enchantments on yourself, so don't cast enchantments on yourself, other than Holy Veil, if needed.

4. If you are attacked, Live Vicariously will help heal you, but if you really need it, heal yourself with Orison of Healing. It's always good to runn around, but keep allies within your radar (AKA minimap. This is so your enchantments stay maintained) is a very good strategy, especially if you don't have very many attackers to heal you with Live Vicariously.

Enjoy ^^

Wait, if you actually recast Ether before it runs out, don't you get the penalty then? (damage) And another problem, Ether nicely solves much energy problems (10 regen) but do mind, it causes exhaustion, so on very longterms you will get into trouble..
(think in terms of TA, 2 good monks coorperating in enemy team)

But nice build, worth trying i suppose :)

Well, unless you get to 10 wins... Anyway, you get 1 exhaustion thing every 20 or so seconds, so its not so bad :P

  Solicity on 06/25/06 06:27

nice! im liking this!

no, you wont take damage from Prodigy as it isnt actualy ending - just being renewed.

this looks like a very interesting thing to try as an ele bonder - and something i am going to have a go at >:)

also to be tried is a monk version of this with divine favor and blessed signet.

  SoulessSyphon on 06/25/06 06:42

Yes, you do take damage from Prodigy. Simpy cast orison to quick heal, or spend all your energy on healing, and you'll end up taking like 4 damage from it ending (2 energy left).

Exhaustion doesn't do too much, really. The only time I found exhaustion killing me was when the fight was 35 minutes long.

Well, thats nice :) too bad Ether is an elite, no Life Barrier this way, would be great if that one was in..

  mriswith on 06/26/06 02:57

So actually; this guide if for the 'undercover' monk as i like to put it. You maintain the enchantments that normally would wear out the energy of the monk. Nice strategy, but a tactic discussion with the monk is a neccesity.
Also good thinking about ether prodigy as energymaintainment. Only pitty is that when yu have 80-85 energy or summat at max after the regen; you will take 160 minimum damage. For an ele that might be a bit much, and orison will heal for about 60 without devine favor. A warroir who finds out that your the undercover monk can easliy get you then. Maybe a add like kenetic armour would be a nice add in this build.
However; good job!

  Txen_Viong on 06/26/06 03:07

Yes very nice build, but i have one question: What happens if you walk into a Well of the Profane if you have ether prodigy on? Do you still take the damage?

(btw, ether prodigy is my fav ele elite, always take it with me)

  SoulessSyphon on 06/26/06 04:07

mriswith: After casting the 8 enchantments and ether prodigy, I usually end up with around 38 energy. Then, I cast healing breeze on my allies and orison of healing a few times. By the time Ether Prodigy starts to wear out, I have like 5 energy. :)

Txen_Viong: No one seems to use Well of the Profane in PvP RA. Guess it's because it might effect their allies (Friendly Fire :o). But yes, if Ether Prodigy ends prematurely or is disenchanted, you take the damage.
