Elementalist/* Melee Farming.
Hello and welcome to my second guide here at Gameamp.
In this guide I will show you another farm to farm with Elem instead of Ether Renewal. (Personally I do not like ER because of the lousy Duration.)
Anyway, the type of Elem is Geomancer (What a suprise :O)
And the farming Place is Elona Reach Mission in the desert (or Trolls outside Droknar's Forge).
First of all I just wanna give a tip to you all.
The perfect weapon for this job is:
This can be bought for about 1k these days so it's no
robbery.
Attributes:
*NOTE* (Attributes are with the two Attributes quests)
Runes are as following:
Stone's Eye + Superior Earth Magic (3+1)
Minor Energy Storage (+1)
Skills:
1 - Whirlwind
(10 Energy, 3/4 Sec Cast, 8 Sec Recharge)
Spell. All adjacent foes take 24 cold damage. Attacking foes struck by Whirlwind are knocked down. (Attrib: Air Magic)
2 - Aftershock
(10 Energy, 3/4 Sec Cast, 10 Sec Recharge)
Spell. Adjacent foes are struck for 105 earth damage. Knocked down foes are struck for 72 additional earth damage. (Attrib: Earth Magic)
3 - Shockwave {E}
(10 Energy, 3/4 Sec Cast, 20 Sec Recharge)
Elite spell. Adjacent foes take 53 earth damage,
nearby foes take 53 earth damage, and foes in the area take 53 earth damage. (Attrib: Earth Magic)
4 - Sliver Armor
(10 Energy, 1 Sec Cast, 30 Sec Recharge)
Enchantment Spell. For 11 seconds, you have 52% chance to block attacks and whenever you are target of an hostile Spell or attack one nearby foes is struck for 37 earth damage. (Attrib: Earth Magic)
5 - Armor of Earth
(10 Energy, 3/4 Sec Cast, 15 Sec Recharge)
Enchantment Spell. For 30 secondsm you gain 62 armor, but you move 12% slower. (Attrib: Earth Magic)
6 - Kinetic Armor
(15 Energy, 3 Sec Cast, 60 Sec Recharge)
Enchantment Spell. For 8 seconds, you gain +84 armor. Whenever you cast a Spell, Kinetic Armor is renewed for 8 seconds. (Attrib: Earth Magic)
7 - Earth Attunment
(10 Energy, 2 Sec Cast, 45 Sec Recharge)
Enchantment Spell. For 62 Seconds, you are attuned to Earth. You gain 30% of the base Energy cost of the skill each time you use Earth Magic.
8 - Aura of Restoration
(10 Energy, 1/4 Sec Cast, 5 Sec Recharge)
Enchantment Spell. For 60 Seconds, you are healed for 367% of the Energy cost each time you cast a Spell. (Attrib: Energy Storage)
Now how this works:
With Kinetic Armor + Armor of Earth on you take minimal damage from normal attacks. The things that hurt though are the special attacks. (Mighty Blow in this example)
To heal up AND to keep Kinetic Armor running between the "spikes" use Aura of Restoration (Thx to the new patch the recharge is 5 sec). And even when you spike (Whirlwind/Aftershock) you get life. Sliver Armor grants a little more protectic and more damage and thanks to the 20% Longer Enchantmod you can keep this up almost 1/2 of the time. And Earth Attunment is ofcourse there so you don't run out of Energy to early.
(For critics: I do not use Earthquake in this build because of 3 things: 1:st; It's easy to interupt due to the long cast. It cost 15 Energy (Rather much for this build) and due to the Exhaustion is gives.)
Minotaurs (Elona Reach Mission)
Start the Elona mission when you are ready. Take the Crystal from the ghost but drop it again. (So you open the gate.) Target yourself again. (Press F) Cast Earth Attunment, Aura of Restoration and Armor of Earth at this point. Walk until you see the minotaurs. Take left and stand in the middle of the big area. Cast Kinetic Armor now and follow up with Aura again about 5 Sec after. When all Minotaurs surronded you (And are attacking, that is important) Use Whirlwind followed quickly by Aftershock. Due to the AoE AI they will run away a bit but they will come back. Use Sliver Armor followed by Shockwave to deal massive damage. By this time your combo (Whirlwind/Aftershock) should be ready. Use it again and wait until the Minotaurs are back again. Repeat this until all Minotaurs are dead.
This is not the most profitable farm in the game but it gives about 500g / run. (1 Run takes about 2-3 mins)
Mountain Trolls (Outside Droknar's Forge)
Pretty much the same deal here. Put up Aura of Restoration, Earth Attunment and Armor of Earth before aggroing the Trolls. Aggro the trolls and use Kinetic Armor followed by Sliver Armor. When all Trolls are around you use Whirlwind followed by Aftershock. Use Aura of Restoration to keep Kinetic Armor up and use Shockwave for extra damage.
(The problems I find with the Trolls are the way to get there. You can switch Shockwave for Windborne Speed or something but it makes the build less lethal. And I find that Minotaurs are more profitable.)
Important notes:
1 - ALWAYS make sure Kinetic Armor is up. (Otherwise you are dead.)
2 - Use Aura of Restoration as often you want to heal yourself.
