This guide is based on things that I noticed in an HA team that appear to make it function more as a group and therefore give it greater success.
Tip 1: When starting a HA group or when you join one, always ensure that the group has a Vent or TS server. When players can talk to one-another while playing, it helps build the group's communication and allows it to function more effectively.
Tip 2: After a loss do not begin another round immediately, take a minute on Vent/TS to talk about the loss with your team. Talk about what they think the group did wrong and what they could do to improve it.
Tip 3: Take the time before the match begins to set up a plan. Make sure that everyone agrees to the plan and that they know what they are doing. Make sure that your plan will work with whatever group you are about to face. Once you see the group and determine what it is (ex. IWAY, Ranger Spike, Balanced) modify the plan if you need to.
Tip 4: I have had the greatest success with a balanced team (mostly balanced anyway), so I would recommend going with that. This is the build that I usually use for HA:
1. Shock Warrior
2. Hammer Warrior
3. E-Surge Mesmer
4. E-Surge Mesmer or Fire Elementalist
5. Warder Elementalist
6. WoH Monk
7. Boon/Prot Monk
8. SB/Infuse Monk or a Bonder Monk
Tip 5: Remind your team that the longer the group sticks together, the more team communication they build. They begin to understand the other players and their style of fighting. The longer the group stays together, the better they work together and they have a greater chance of winning.
Tip 6: Never allow your team to get stuck in a choke point on the map. There are many places (such as under the bridges) that will spell death for your team if you end up there. Always stay in the open and force the enemy to come to you.
Well, that's what I think about running a successful HA team. I hope this was useful and please post comments/questions/suggestions.
