 Sorry its been awhile since my last guide, I know you all love them. But I'm here today to give you the secret to my riches. It brings in about 13k more plat than trolls AN HOUR! So enjoy.

ATTRIBUTES



These are your stats with the two 15 point quests completed and before runes are added.

SKILLS



1. Troll Unguent
2. Throw Dirt
3. Mark of Pain
4. Oath Shot
5. Dodge
6. Lightning Reflexs
7. Whirling Defense
8. Edge of Extinction

GEAR

Ok. Ill start with the weapon. I suggest a bow with armor mod such as this one.



The armor mod lets you live longer and I like alot more than the extra health.

Now for the armor. Ughh... I'll go slow for you here. First and formost you need 2 masks. I know, I know its a pain switching them but its kinda required. (plus the runes are cheap)



You NEED these masks. No BS. Get them. The rest of the armor is Druids from Droks. Here are the runes in them.




Alright. Now that that is done lets move on.

METHOD

Alright. First off have your Beast Mastery mask on and leave Port Sledge. Run up to the spot represented by the black "X" on Map #1. Cast Edge of Extinction here.

Map #1


After you place your EoE here switch to your Expertise mask. This allows you to have max dodge, lightning, whirling, dirt, and makes everything cost less energy. With your mask on cast Troll Ungunet then dodge along the path represented by the blue line on Map #2. When dodge runs out cast Lightning Reflexs and keep running. When that runs out cast Whirling Defense and move to the black "X" represented on Map #2.

When you get in to position quickly cast Troll Ungunet and turn around. There should be 8 - 15 grawl behind you. Hit "C" button to target the nearest one and cast Throw Dirt. Then cast Mark of Pain on the same grawl and then follow it up with a Oath Shot. If it hits (and it usually does) cast Whirling again and then Troll Ungunet. By this time they should die and you should have alot of drops but if not recast Throw Dirt and continue on.

After they die a small group of casters comes up to you. Anet's sad attempt to nerf. Just die. Then come back for the loot. Its easier this way trust me.

I am not aware of anything happening on Guru. I dont go there. This guide is an extention of the guide written by Crimson awhile ago on this site.

I take no credit for originating this build. This is just the build I now use and thought that I would share with my community. If there was another grawl farm guide on Guru then its purely happenstance.

All in all tho I bet mine is better. ^^

The videos were just to look cool, and it gives a slightly better idea of the path run. I didnt intend to detract from his guide in any way.

Throw Dirt is to keep the grawls from murdering you. Yeah, you have a 75% evasion stance on, but 90% is better (and necessary for large mobs).

lol i've done quite a bit of this type of farming lately, but i don't have a +5 armor mod bow... so i tend to die alot, and i don't always get enough grawl to make EoE go off and kill the boss too

oh i just realised... you don't kill the casters too... odd... there's usualy enough grawl there to kill them almost all the way, and then you can almost make it back and kill them too with WD and mark of pain... just follow one around and when he dies he'll take the rest with him.

well there goes one my fav farming places >.< lol. anyway you dont need to be ranger to farm em. i farm them with my 55hp build with bonetties so they dont interupt my soj. ^^ its fun there and the 3 chests in there are usually gold chests.

This build doesn't work for me. I tried and for some reason, the grawls run away when I have mark of pain on. Apparently, the mark of pain is being registered as an AOE spell. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?

Actually the whirling defense was making the grawls run, though I'm not sure.

Anyways I finally got it work. Seems like a lot of practice and luck depends on it too.

This does take some practice to get down. And it also takes some luck with the spawns.

I think I got how it works now. The point is that once you got the grawls all surrounded around you, you cast throw dirt, then you put mark of pain (MoP) to the one ADJACENT to you. Be sure that the one you're putting MoP isn't the one that's running away because the whirling defense counts as an AOE skill for some reason. Because of that you actually DON'T want to put MoP on the same grawl you used throw dirt because he'll be more likely to run away from you.

Asides that, you can just follow the procedure above.

MOP also counts as an AOE spell, just take a long bow and you should be fine.

From my personal experience, monsters running due to AoE is triggered by how many times they take damage over a set time.(i would explain, but it might give away my sekret build :P)

For instance though, if you take Zealots Fire, if you spam fast casting skills, monsters will run, however, if you use a skill, wait a second or two, cast another, they will not run.

I found out you can 55 farm this very effectively with a Mo/? even got a sup rune here and other stuff today. :)

yup 55ing is very easy, altought the uludites have chillybeans they are to lazy to run too you ^^ and since this is a spell that only works when your standing next to them your enchants will stay on.

u get the 15 atribute quest at droks (lady near the storage) she gives u a quest and after u do that one the next quest is the 15 att. thte second one is in desert and its the city like n/e forgot the exact name and it gives u the quest like the forgotten ones or something like that sorry couldnt be more exact but thats where u get them

I'v done ranger grawl farming and I don't particularly like it, solo troll farming with my ranger is easier and faster usually, so I'll stick to that and two-ranger UW farming.

ALL WRONG. Ok here is why. You simply cant pound enough dmg into them to take them out. The smallist group you can pull is 3 and that icludes 1 healer min. The warrior grawl knock down a lot so that slows you down for dmg too. Yea you have lots of dodge skills but what about dmg. you have a good bow but EoE only is effective if you get a kill. Mark of pain is ineffective when the mobs are spred out like they are. The healers would out do your dmg every time. The only way I see this working is if your a trapper.

I have been doing this build since before the nerf of AoE, if anyone says bullshit then look me up and i'll show you how it is done. It is very simple and a quick way to get rich and tons of skill points, i have 167 skill points. When you cast eoe then troll then hit dodge when dodge runs out hit lightning reflexes and they remain aggroed on you once it runs out hit whirling, then throw dirt trol, mark, oath, and if you feel good another mark of pain.....IGN Loki Tine
