Since one of the new attributes in Factions is Critical Strikes i will explain Critical hits in more detail.

Every weapon has a chance of hitting critical. Higher your attribute, higher chance of critical. If you are atacking a foe that is fleeing from you, you will always hit critical.

Each attribute point gives 1% chance of hitting critical. If you use 10 axe mastery or 10 death you will have 10% chance of hitting a critical hit.

Critical strikes attribute gives 1% chance of hitting a critical hit. Combined with dagger mastery, if you have 10 attribute points in dagger mastery and 10 in critical strikes you have a 20% chance of hitting a critical hit (1 outta 5)

Also with the 2% chance of dual hit with dagger mastery you will have a 20% chance of dual strike thus 40% chance of hitting a critical hit.

You can also see a critical hit:

As you can see what i call "orange waves" appear when hitting critical.

i didnt know about the fleeing foe thing, is it any movement or do they have to be running away from you? Does running in the opposite direction to u in order to hit another ally count as fleeing?

i wonder how people never noticed thins thing though, go hunt some lvl 3 mob and you will always hit critical.

About fleeing, where did you find out this information? I'm not sure I believe my hits deal critical strikes when someone is running from me as I have never noticed doing more damage when someone is running from me.

it is true. just try running away from monsters, you will always (or at least 85%) suffer critical hits. easiest to test is against archer enemies.

does any1 know the ratio between critican hits and arrow curve (or whatever u call the flightpath an arrow has)

i seam to get more higher dmg hits when shooting with ie dragos flat bow, which has a high arrow curve or if i use read the wind or favorable winds, which reduces the flightpath.. (additional dmg from skill is counted away) is this just my imagination or what

There's an easy wya for assasin to see when the C.H. is landed because assasins get one energy per C.H. So you landen one whenever you see that puny 1 energy fly ^^

I noticed when ettin farming it sucks when your just attacking not moving to get hit from behind and the damage is consistently more than the other ettins hitting you from the front.

remember:
when you get hit from behind and sideways you get more damage in than if u get hit fron the front. the Shield only helps against attackers from the FRONT! (logically)

about the bow.
when you are on a higher ground than your enemy is, you tend to hit more the HEAD-PART of the armor, which reduces the damage less than the chest-part. thats why you do more damage. so maybe the high-arc bows hit the head part more often as well, resulting in better damage. not sure, but possible...after all the arrow strikes from high above :)

I heard that lower your weapon req. is that you will have higher chance to do critical hit... Is that true? I never belived that...

that is not true, higher the proficiency is then you make more crits.

Lets say i strike for 10 dmg, and then i crit one time, how much dmg does the crit give me then? is there a fixed dmg % for it? (like for example crit is 250% weap dmg or something)

critical hits are fixed damage. go kill some low level monster, almost all your hits will be criticals, and they are same.
not sure how much % it is, but its the best damage you can do without a skill.

oh also, criticals are based on the max damage of your weapon...thus Hammers will have best critical hits, Axes 2nd, Swords lowest.
test these on low level monsters and you will see.
as far i know criticals are NOT affected by 15% above 50 and such...only the weapon's max damage (35 for hammer, 28 for axe, 22 for sword..u get it)

yes, custoization gives boost to the critical hit damage, but 15 over 50 and the rest doesnt. dunno why :S

On the bow thing, correct me if im wrong but hitting anyone in the head with an arrow will always result in a critical hit. This is why its always better to attack from high ground. Due to the fact that the flatbows have the largest arrow arc, it has the slowest time to contact, making it a horible bow to interupt with, and is highly in acurate at range, however, it has a higher chance of hitting the head portion, and it has the refire rate of a short bow (2 second refire rate). When mixed with tigers fury and skills that decrease the arrow arc (quick shot, favorable winds, read the wind comes to mind) the flatbow can become a great weapon(long range and the attack speed of sword warrior) Great bow to use with Tigers fury, FW, Vampiric string, Kindle arrwos and Conjure flame + dual shot to deal heavy dmg or with tigers fury, practiced stance, chocking gas, fw to lay a nonstop stream of interupting arrows, completely shutting down elems and necros.
