yes, ha is dominated by gimmick builds, but there are just as many teams running balanced builds...its your choice whether or not to gogogogoredenginegoredenginegoredenginego your way to r9 then rank people thinking you're cool, or to play a build that requires teamwork and thought to orchestrate properly

well the build we run was made from a guy in a guild called [DF] i think gold trimmed cape. He was with us and this is basically an anti sway build with so much pressure. If you guys want i can run it with you this weekend :P (requires no real spiking except with the sins diff targets) even people not so good would be able to run this.
i don't take pvp seriously at all. i used to. believe it or not, i actually quit playing for a few months. this game is terrible, i only play to try and get my r8. maybe get my tiger if i'm lucky.

You do not have to be so harsh as to call him an idiot. Yea HA is won by gimmick builds, but like you said the smallest percentage of those wins are by teams with balanced builds and custom builds. Maybe all of the times he has made it to the halls (if he has) he has gotten there by a gimmick and he thinks thats how HA is run. So you do not need to bash him becuase thats how he took in the concept of PvP. :)

i've been r7 for a while now and i'm 1k from r8. i'm just saying that this game is nothing compared to what it used to be. pvp is just cookie cutter builds. that's all this game is now.

Winning halls is cool, I never went there. let alone winning it. I managed to win 3 rounds in HA with Iway. even found that more fun than those builds nowadays. so actually never did any HA when I still played. got 31 fame tho :x .
omg shush don't talk bad about DF..only because the leader sold invites for 100k each and then sold the guild for billions of ectos to some guru guy and not giving a CENT to any of the core members doesn't mean DF is baed!! especially since mr cool deathaxe is in it (kaileen)

actually you know its not the build you play its how you use it. It doesn't matter if its a build you got that everyone plays. You modded it changed it made it better and yes all builds require thinking and tactics otherwise why don't you run this build just grab random people don't explain how to play their build. See if you will win no most likely you will get owned by zaishen. All builds require tactics, thought, and many other things.

And obviously we can win halls at any time. And yes even Sway requires tactics and thought. If a build doesn't require tactics and thought then basically try running your build without thinking. Well without thinking you can't even activate skills because you have to think about that. You need to determine what your target is who are you going to attack so that your team will win.
We had been running this build and many others in that day for about 4 hours or more and you are basically saying that we suck. You are just saying that we can't win the "Good" guilds. We have won halls many time now. And yes this build has potential. Obviously we won halls? Even though it was a skip. The A/mo's need to Micro their hero eles. So that during the Knock down they will use their AoE dmg. We attacked the monks while the R/D got their Mesmer or Necro. The E/P snared when they bunched up together. And without good monks this would not be possible. Even if we ran Sway we had planned out the tactics which requires thinking. Now you are saying that builds require no thought and tactics. Well you are wrong and obviously you do not HA.
