Untrue, that area is till easily accessible, maybe even easier than it was back then because A-net seems to have removed the sign that was blocking it.
I wish the sign was there so I can confuse noobies again the sign should be there and the npc should send you to th battle islands instead of the old random arenas which I miss ever so much and I still have the island mapped on my Warrior, Ranger, and I think my Necro, DANCE DANCE DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY! lol
