manly monk, the scythe does 9-41 dmg (before taking armour into account) while IW ignores armour completely. it hits every 1.75 seconds which is faster than cyclone axe but only hits up to 2 additional targets within adjacent range which means a max of 3, which cyclone can hit much,much more.
I don't think most of you are getting the point... The point is that IW works with Cyclone Axe, so you can go into, say, the troll cave, aggro 20 or so monsters, then IW Cyclone Axe them all to death. Scythes wouldn't be anywhere near as effective in that circumstance, and saying that not using IW against Mergoyles would be more effective has nothing to do with this.
