I was guildless for a long while, so I can tell, as long as you have friends, it's good. You'll lack the guild hall, the cape and the green/gold channels, and thus organizing a party might be a bit more difficult - except if you've plenty of active friends on your list and/or you're good and lucky with pugs.
yeah my guild was never really active so i was kinda forced to be good with pugs, only time untill now i have party'd with ppl i know was when i help them
